I have a CECHC, while playing Driver 3 I noticed that if I start it as a PS2 classic I get a very low frame rate, it's unplayable. If instead I start it as an ISO from WebMan the emulation is perfect Can you give an explanation?

As the title says, what is the difference between a PS3 CECHC01 and a CECHL01? I mean the C model emulates PS2 games via SW which the CECHL01 for example also can by installing a CFW. So why did Sony remove this SW based feature in newer PS3 models?
