[MENTION=20]habib[/MENTION] if we are disconect BD dvive tape this will be that what you need (i mean no-bd)? If yes then i think more users can help you. Is only needed to take off upper cover and disconect one tape in slim models.

I was thinking the same. I can pop the top on mine and just disconnect the power to the drive or something, and test if that works

25xx models have logic board integrated onto the motherboard. even though you disconnect the drive it will still register that the drive is still connected.

packages work fine on those models with or without the drive. i feel pretty safe assuming that it will work just fine

I hope that there will be 1 CFW that can handle normal PS3 and the broken BD Drive.
CFW noBD makes normal PS3 lasers not work.
