PS4 11.52

there is no way currently to hack that firmware. disable internet and wait. that's the best suggestion anyone can make. there will never be a public hack for the latest firmware, because the hacker would likely be sued, if you've read what the disclaimer says on hacker one.

I'm on FW 11.50 (fortunately I've been busy since May and didn't update to 11.52) and am waiting for a potential exploit to be revealed after theflow0 was awarded a bounty for finding a vulnerability a few weeks ago.

I was happy using PSN and my PS4 Pro untill recently, when I wanted to try using my PSVR to do some racing sim. I was honestly appalled that some content is now unavailable from PSN, specifically the Dirt Rally DLC. Now I can't even pay to get the software! The whole situation made me feel like I didn't own my own hardware. So finally, screw Sony, I'm going to jailbreak as soon as I can.

not sure. there was a serious vulnerability discovered for the ps5, but it doesn't affect the ps4, because it's using a lower version free bsd. I don't know much about it, but it will likely be patched, if it hasn't already been (possibly today). today, ps4 firmware 12.0 and ps5 firmware 10.0 were released. I was on beta 10.0, and I remember it saying you had till October to redeem the beta offer (comes in the form of a psn code), so I thought it would be October when it would be released. however, it was released today. I've already updated, since I'm a psn+ subscriber. don't update either system (if you have a ps5) or the ps4, if you still care about exploits.

a lot of stuff, specifically dlc, is unavailable unless you meet certain conditions. the store should tell you what they are, but some are impossible to fulfill, such as playing a demo that's no longer available, preordering an already released game, etc. I know Nintendo and Microsoft do the same, but at least Nintendo doesn't list the dlc you can't get. I also hate how the playstation store doesn't differentiate between what's an ingame purchase and actual dlc. Nintendo separates them on their eshop pages. I wish Sony would do the same.

Definitely sticking with 11.50 on PS4 PRO. I have Gran Turismo Sport and Driver Club VR that I've bought on disc, so I can stay offline and still try the racing sim VR experience.

There's a German retailer on eBay selling sealed copies of Dirt Rally with an unredeemed VR DLC code for PS4, but for €150... I'd be tempted to buy another used PS4 Pro with the 11.00 few and just JB that!

I saw news on free BSD exploit, and today something that was patched out for the 8.00 PS5 fw. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something is discovered within the next year.
