PS2 30004-R or 50004?

I have a 30004-R at Home, i want to run FreeMCBoot or FreeHDBoot and Run PS1 and PS2 Games from a SATA HDD, should i use my 30004-R model with a Network Adapter or get a 50004 model for cheap?
