NOTICE

 • Installed either by XMB or by Recovery Menu. Remove (Eject) any Disc from PS3 before proceeding.
 • After installation, enter Recovery and restore the file system to prevent various malfunctions.
 • For now the only Homebrew Manager is functioning is GameSonic Manager.v3.59.1. It has incorporated the latest Payload Fixati from Habib.
 • For games like COD: Ghost that give black screen, when you can start them in ISO. The problem is caused by the current Backup Manager

Some General Tips about CFW installations from psx-place.com
( Credits to Aldostools / kozarovv for some of these suggestions below )

RED = Extremely Important
GREEN = Recommended but not required

 • Remove any Physical Game Disc from the PlayStation 3 Disc Drive (Otherwise the PUP (OFW) from the PS3 Disc will be installed and you will lose your jailbreak.

 • Unmount actual game. This really important for example, cobra systems with webMAN, because webMAN mounts last played game on boot. If an Update folder exist in that game. It will install the official firmware

 • ALWAYS verify the PUP's MD5 to be sure the file is not corrupted and in it's original state (There are some fakes out there that are OFW, so never trust a title and get the MD5 from trust sources like PSX-Place.com

 • DISABLE any CFW Spoofs, before update

 • [*=left]Turn off internet connections when updating CFW's.( Wifi and Ethernet cable.)

 • If you do not own a HARDWARE FLASHER or have the means to recover from a possible brick. DO NOT RUSH to install a CFW / MFW Release. Allow the community to conduct test as some CFW do not get proper testing and even ones that do some models can act differently so its best to give it at least a 3 day wait. Usually brick reports happen the first 24-48 Hours.

 • It's good practice to QA Flag your console. before installing a new CFW.

 • Always a good idea to dump your eid_root_key (see link for additional information)

 • Can be useful to take 1 or 2 dumpsof youflashafter a successful upgrade. These dumps are useful (with a hardware flasher) when Downgrading a console from an accidental OFW update and also when recovering from a Bricked console

 • Backup your Game Savesand edat/rif files to a pendrive, external HDD or FTP to PC.

seriously did you not read what I and STLcardsWS had to say about your other posts (maybe I'll tell Alexander to hold off on the release just yet)

He posted this one about the same time as the other one (i replied here, then seen the other one. after seeing several others today by him) .Hopefully he chills out :)

Joonie habib Alexander #dev Just an idea. Can someone, when making a new custom firmware or make it a feature one can install via PKG, block your system from looking at the Blu Ray disc for updates. Therefore removing the possibility of accidentally updating via disc. :start: (<-- oh look, stupid PS smiley in the way again)

Can y'all like gone and hop off my damn ****

Hey juwan stone, I have not been following but when admin and mods ask you to stop asking the same question all over the forum, I suggest you do so. It may seem like you're been picked on but I assure you that is not the case. When my nephew, who is 5, asks the same question I kinda get annoyed, so expect some developers to get annoyed too.

My advice is to sit back and enjoy the other releases, such as homebrew, which don't require a CFW upgrade or disc and I'm sure a NOBD 4.70 will surface soon.

i like to see an app that toggles on and off the system update or a feature built into a manager. or an option in REBUG Toolbox to disable system update. (but no matter what it always works in Recovery mode, incase something happens and you have to re-install the CFW, due to a softbrick or error)

A on off toggle via game OS is good enough since most update their firmware that way anyway. It's just another step to avoid accidental OFW install.

OK sorry about that

Better to wait a little more time and have a stable release and running at 100%. ;)

OK sorry for bugging you I'll just wait

OK thnx a million

If you are impatient, you can use PS3 MFW Builder to add noBD patch. I have a guide with videos here. There is also a link there for my Playerkp420 4.70 noBD MFW.

Lol I don't know how to do all that
