PS3 4.75 FERROX Dual Boot (DB) Firmware

CFW developer Alexander has released a new Dual Boot firmware for the recent 4.75 firmware update. Dual Boot firmwares are a slightly modified version of Official Firmware for CFW user's only. This firmware will act and behave the same ways as an Official Firmware but allow for CFW user's to return back to CFW when they choose to. The advantage of this firmware (originally and idea of HABIB) it allows CFW user's to play their disc games with less [break]ss[/break] risk of getting banned when playing online. Then with ECDSA checks disable, this is the change that allows CFW user's to then go back to a CFW when they choose. So if you worried about playing your disc games online on your CFW, this could be a solution to ease your worries.

 • Disabled ECDSA in SPU PKG (spu_pkg_rvk_verifier)
 • No function for CFW's enabled
 • No QA FLAG Enabled
 • Stealth * (Dimensions as nell'OFW 4.75) From an idea of HABIB.

Important NOTICE: In order to get out of this firmware, you will need a 4.75 CFW (Which there is none at this time) or a 999 Down-grader PUP .. There are several 4.75 MFW releases, which would get you out of this as well. but they were built by user's using MFW builder and may not be ideal for the first 4.75 CFW's releases.

A little word of caution using this. Till a 4.75 CFW comes out you will be stuck using this. You can't install a CFW lower then 4.75 to get out of DB CFW. One has to install DB then a 4.75 CFW and then QA flag to roll back to a lower firmware. So if you want to try this go ahead but be warned your gonna be stuck till a 4.75 CFW comes out or use a flasher to downgrade thus defeating the purpose of this.

or use a 9.99 downgrader...

That will work for most except those that had minver of 3.56 and installed CFW directly via a flasher. But he's that MFW would work as well but I would suggest waiting myself just to be safe.

For those with 3.56 minver, they can install rebug 4.70.1 with 9.99 syscon (using sycon changer by Evilnat), Set QA flag from toolbox then install rebug 4.70.1 two times.

Alexander there is a detail i think is important to advise in all the releases of "dual boot" firmwares
Some games does scans of the internall hdd or databases to search for homebrew (like cod games that searches for install paths of multiman, showtime, etc...)

The way to be safe is to format the hdd after installing the dual boot firmware
This way the contents of the hdd are completly cleaned up, and is imposible for sony to find any info related with homebrew, cracked licenses, modifyed user profiles, etc, etc...
Is like cleaning all the traces of all the "unnofficial" stuff made previouslly

sandungas ok!
Nice, is mostly a "noob friendlly" general rule to be extremelly safe :)

The point is we dont know how many ways sony or game companies are using to scan the ps3 hdd... but we know by formatiing the hdd it doesnt matters what they are looking for because they will not find anything interesting
Formatting the hdd (after the BD cfw installation) bypasses all these scan methods in a 100% safe way
And additionally it deletes all the traces of "unnofficial stuff" that was generated in the hdd by the use of older cfw's and homebrews

How do you know that. Has code been discovered? How can we disable these searches?

I explained it a bit better here ---> http://www.psx-place.com/forum/ps3-...d-homebrew-apps-2014-post15302.html#post15302

Basically, the scan is code running from the eboot.bin of some games (so is managed by the game developers, not by sony)

Sony is using other ways, as example, the lists in the firmware with the TITLE_ID of all booted games previouslly, and another lists with hashes of all the the .self or .sprx that has been loaded, etc...
You dont want to have these lists in the internall hdd after installing a DB firmware (ready to be sent to sony servers for ban analysis)... so the easyest way to clean all the "shity" is by formatting the hdd

Please

why the **** doesn't anyone post jailbreaks for ps3 cech3002b I just want to jailbreak my ps3 :( pls i beg

or you could use spoofed homebrews, that should be quite. :)
