PS3 4.78.1 REBUG REX (D-REX) + COBRA v7.20 (w/ Rebug Toolbox v2.02.09)

Team REBUG is back again with a new Custom Firmware Release to enter the 4.78 Custom Firmware Era with 4.78.1 REBUG REX (D-REX) + COBRA v7.20, and as always the firmware has equipped the latest REBUG ToolBox (installs via Install Package Files). This may mark one of the fastest REBUG REX releases to hit the scene after an official firmware while that alone may be impressive about this release, Team Rebug also has some additional features to share in this CFW release for 4.78 user's.. The first change is that XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) is now [break]sss[/break] supported in this firmware, XMB Settings (by Mysis/Sandungas and mods by littlebalup/aldostools) have been added to the firmware and can be toggled on and off via the newly updated REBUG Toolbox (v2.02.09), plus webMAN MOD (Rebug Edition) has been updated to v1.43.25 and has been integrated into this CFW release. Then of course REX (D-REX) comes equipped with the COBRA v7.2 payload, bringing you all those features found in this chart.

does anyone try to play metal gear online using this CFW? cos i previously used rebug 4.76.1 and the metal gear 5 itself couldnt recognize the metal gear online game data (installed from psstore)..
dunno whether this is related to the CFW or not..

while playing online, i used psnpatch (and pressing X to disable CFW, etc etc)

You updated to an official firmware.. You now have to downgrade the system with a hardware flasher before you can install a cfw again.

Metal gear online checks your region of your account. You have to manually download the online update of your game.

If both of your account and game are the same region then it shouldn't be a problem.

Could You explain why? What is different installing fw on 3.55 and i.e 3.55+ Rebug? I was thinking that I could made clean install fw without dongle/app and lv2diag on dev_usb crap. As I remember no one can exit FSM on 3.55+ due to signing lv2diag - and I was thinking this will bypass such inconvenience.

You can however directly install cfw 4.78 as long as you're on 3.55 even with FSM enabled.

A year back, there were some reports regarding RSOD caused by the attempt to install fw on 4.xx / FSM enabled, and also needed a HW flasher to recover.

So if you're curious enough, you can try brick yourself.
So far I have no clue why this causes RSOD.

OMG!!!!!!!! it really works!!! OMG after all this time, i should have asked you months ago..hahaha..since MGS TPP by duplex is euro region, so i created euro psn account and its all good! all hail jonnie!!! amazing, that right there is why youre the best, boss!!

That rsod was of installing from xmb
if i remember correctly thats was always valid even for 3.55
however, the problem now is that the diag cant work to install fw on 4.xx, you get the log.....but i forgot what it actually said...this doesnt cause rsod or any kind of brick, try it if anyone wants to for testing

Also as a side note for the life of me I cant ever get my slim to jive w/ the wireless sync issue so Ive been staying on habbib bc of this...does this happen to anyone else or is there anything that can be done about this so I can enjoy rebug and ps2 wirelessly?? So I had the 4.76 rebug and I thought I had to use a rebug place holder instead of habbibs and also i though i had to extract the ecm for the wifeless sync bug since i have a slim? Bc it says on rebugs website you have to convert them to classics for my type of ps3?? When I use @habbibs i just use his ! holder and use my isos and they work fine. But fr some reasone (and I think @Stlcards had the same thing happen to him) no matter if i convert of not and when i use the rebug place holder i get the so called wireless bug thing happen. Any suggestions [MENTION=29]Joonie[/MENTION]?

I don't know what your issue is.

Just make sure to enable Cobra and use the same launcher you use now
