PS3 4.81.1 REBUG REX / D-REX + COBRA v7.31 (w/ Rebug Toolbox v02.02.11)

ok no problem man
i will install Rebug 4.81 and give you my feedback here about it
Thank you for your great work.
You should not use Ccapi for spoofing, if you don't use Ccapi for anything else, it's useless & complicates things.
Spoofing Id can be done by webMAN-MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler & idpset...

Bros... Has anyone encountered any problem with it or is it just as good as the previous versions?

Important notes:

Some of you will wonder about the difference between Cobra 7.31 included in Rebug & the 7.4 version used by habib in his Starbucks release.
Essentially they are identical except one thing.
The Hash update feature which allows devs to make changes to system files on the fly without having to recompile Cobra for it to work.
This is a feature for devs only & because so far no homebrew takes advantage of it, it makes absolutely no difference to the end user.

Concerning DEX mode:
For DEX users, you need to use either webMAN-MOD or multiman 4.80 to mount your games.
No other backup manager is yet compatible.
No doubt aldostools will update Irisman very soon.
In the meantime there is a port of Irisman 3.55.10 adding DEX support by Joonie, look at his github repo for those interested in compiling it. You will need the psl1ght sdk to do it.
https://github.com/Joonie86/IRISMAN_v35
Note that this port does not have mamba support. yet.

Mate should I stay on Habib then ? I dont see the need to update to this for me. It actually works very very well the Habib. 20 hours intensive game play no freezes and less overheating meaning the temperature of the CPU while on SYSCON settings it is lower than what it used to be :)

Well that's up to you.
If you want a simple cobra cfw then Starbucks is your best bet, if you prefer Standard CEX + Mamba then I would suggest the latest Ferrox & finally if you want the full monty with all possible features there is Rebug..
For many devs, there is no contest, Rebug is needed really... Access to DEX, Target Manager, Debugging... The list is too long...
You won't get any of these things with Starbucks & only a handful of Rebug Toolbox features will work...
But if you do not care about that stuff then by all means, keep Starbucks...

If you don't want to help us confirm the issue, please stay away from rebug. You will have the freezing issue again

I already told you what makes the issue last night and you said you don't want to follow so all your test results so far didn't help us confirm the issue with webMAN Mod

Hi, I was wondering how I would go about installing Rebug D-Rex 4.81.1 over Rebug D-Rex 4.80.1.
Would I need to downgrade to 3.55 or just install over the top of 4.80.1.
Cheers

Cobra v7.31 vs Cobra v7.40
Really? On the website it says to go back to 3.55 OFW/CFW but I wasn't sure what to do

Updating to a higher version CFW is usually the way most update.. No need to go back to 3.55, as your on CFW already and can update to higher CFW with ease.

The notes from Rebug Read as:
From XMB install REBUG 4.21.x AND HIGHER over any 3.55 OFW/CFW/MFW or the same or lower firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched or any firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched and QA enabled.

So this means you are able to update REBUG 4.80.1 to 4.81.1

So how would I go about doing this? Would I update via Storage Media, in the System Update settings on the XMB?

u can do that. I personally always update via system storage (update debug). I've never had a problem with it, and I've been doing that since 3.55. iirc, system update debug was introduced to qa flagging on 3.50, so it's perfect.
