PS3 4.81.1 REBUG REX / D-REX + COBRA v7.31 (w/ Rebug Toolbox v02.02.11)

@Joonie, @Habib, @Mysis

When I use the "*Soft Reboot" - Function of the "*Custom Firmware Tools",
I get lost in space -, I mean, my DS3 doesn't sync correctly.
It happens to me only, after the LED's of my DS3 go off and I hit the PS-Button too early.
The issue is not reproducible with the "*Hard Reboot" - Function. --> Everything ok.

Is there maybe a possibility to improve this?

BTW: Backup of my "xRegistry.sys" is done.

I have tested all the Reboot- and Restart-Commands.
Tests are done with two different DS3's --> reproducible with both DS3's.
It happens, when the LED's go off and I push the PS-Button immediately after that.

No RSoD, bkpps3_PS3Check.log has no errors:
08:10:03 : Binary check for 010.02 cvtrm0 Header Started... Result: OK!
08:10:03 : Binary check for 010.04 vtrm0 Magic Started... Result: OK!
08:10:03 : Binary check for 010.05 vtrm0 Reserved Entries Started... Result: OK!
08:10:03 : Binary check for 010.07 cvtrm1 Header Started... Result: OK!
08:10:03 : Binary check for 010.09 vtrm1 Magic Started... Result: OK!
08:10:03 : Binary check for 010.10 vtrm1 Reserved Entries Started... Result: OK!

Everything ok, syncs properly, when using:
- /reboot.ps3 - hard reboot
- /reboot.ps3?hard - hard reboot

But lost in space, DS3-LED's only flash, when using:
- /restart.ps3 - restart the PS3 console (content is not scanned on Startup)
- /restart.ps3?0 - restart the PS3 console and allow scan content on Startup
- /restart.ps3?<mode>$ Sets the mode indicated as the default restart mode for /restart.ps3
- /reboot.ps3?soft - soft reboot
- /reboot.ps3?quick - quick reboot (load LPAR id 1)
- /reboot.ps3?vsh - reboot using VSH command (same as /restart.ps3)

Sometimes i get the sync problem too, when i want to boot my PS3,
e.g. when before my PS3 was one day or two days unused.

Is your PS3 model CECH"L" ?

How about reboot from toolbox ?

Much better:
I have tested it just several times:

Soft (LV2 Reboot Only):
9/10 times: syncs properly
1/10 times: sync failed

Full (On/Off Cycle):
10/10 times: syncs properly

My 11th try with Soft (LV2 Reboot Only) also ended with the sync problem:

I have this problem a long time. I thought till now, this is for Slim users known issue.
It was also there, before i opened my PS3 for the first time to install my E3-Flasher.

The worst scenario for me is:

Sometimes i get the sync problem too, when i want to boot my PS3,
e.g. when before my PS3 was one day or two days unused.

Unfortunately I do not know this about my first PS3, because it was a long time ago
(3.41 JB, 3.55 Kmeaw, long time before 4.21 CFW).

But yes. I can remember now.

For about two or three years, I have repaired the Slim from my friend:

- New Logic Board installation, E3-Flasher installation, Nor-Dump, Downgrade with Jig-Stick (FSM)
- 3.55 OFW twice installs, dehashing... (no, no, even down to 3.41 OFW)
- 3.55 CFW, FSM with Jig-Stick, BD-Remarry, DRL-Fix
- Fixing RSoD in FSM too (3.55 CFW with RSoD-Bypass)
- And at last: installation of the first or second CFW from Habib with integrated Cobra-Payload

His PS3 has nearly shown the same issue at this time.
After a fresh PS3 start, his console <-> DS3 sometimes don't sync correctly.

I currently have 2 slims & a dozen pads. Have had those 2 for 2 years now, never had this issue even once despite daily use & most existing CFW...
Had other slims before, same thing...
So I am quite surprised....

Yes I know bguerville and I trust you. You have allready told this to you yesterday.
As you can see, I have not this luck. And it makes me sometimes very angry about this sync issue.
Therefore i am posting about this. Maybe there is a 1% possibility for some dev to reproduce and fix this.

I dunno how to reproduce the issue though...
Am curious, if you have 10mn & you are using Rebug, put the Debug setting "pad auto detection" on, test the pad sync after a few reboot & test..

Thx for the hint, but after a Soft-Reboot (*Custom Firmware Tools), + after that quickly hitting the PS-Button --> LED's are only flashing.
Tried several times --> No luck.
