4.81 CFW (Custom Firmware ) & Updated Homebrew Apps (Plugins / Tools / Spoofs / and more)

Guys what does Dual boot do , how to install that , is that one run OFW and other CFW.
Is cfw that is very close to OFW. You can't run backups, plugins, homebrews, only original discs. Only cfw option is that you can bach from this to true cfw if you want.

Purpose? PSN safety.. IMO this is only usable by people that have E3 flasher hardwired to ps3. As they can do true dual boot, flashing this to normal ps3 is not needed.

  1. Made from OFW 4.81.
  2. ECDSA check patch applied to isoldr in lv0.
  3. ECDSA check patch applied to spu_pkg_rvk_verifier.
  4. Same metadata applied to keep the exact same size as OFW. (see pic below) Even all the encrypted files inside CoreOS are the same size.
  5. Can be installed over OFW 3.55 and any CFW with a lower or same version.
  6. While on this DB OFW 4.80, you can install any CFW with the same or higher Syscon version.
  7. Can only play disc based games and games downloaded from PSN. (Basically it is just like OFW, except you are able to go back to CFW without a hardware flasher.)

For those that don't know, this is for a safer way to play on PSN. It is suggested to have 2 hard drives. One for CFW, and one for this DB OFW. When you want to act like your PS3 is not jailbroken, insert DB OFW HDD and install Playerkp420 DB OFW 4.81. Then you can play as you are on OFW. Then when you wish to go back to CFW, insert CFW HDD, and install your favorite CFW. It is important to keep your DB OFW HDD free of any homebrew apps. To prevent Sony from seeing them. Keep all your CFW stuff on your CFW HDD.

I personally tested this on my CECH-2501A, and my CECHA01. On both I went from Darknet 4.81 v1.00 to Playerkp420 DB OFW 4.81. Then back to Darknet 4.81 v1.00.

It is recommended anyway to boot to recovery menu after switching HDDs and installing either DB OFW or CFW with Option 6 every time you want to switch.
Don't just switch HDDs, because then your NOR/NAND Flash will still have CFW and you will risk ban from PSN.

I want to ask if its any way to boot this fw using other CID then the original with came with the PS3
I believe many people wants 2 options but they need allways to change cid because of the original as been banned allready

While on CFW you can use IDPSet to permanently change the IDPS of the PS3.

I think in the first post on the next update of things, I will add an additional section.

Applications that are now firmware independent.(that once was not)
  • IDPSet
  • PSNpatch
  • ReActPSN
  • .. something else i can not think of that someone will reply with :)

Nice work
impressive - "Can be installed over any OFW" :;p
(Non cobra one at bottom a typo)
LOL. Must of got cut somehow when it was moved to front page. I swear it said ... after the NOR/NAND Flash has been patched with ....

Your standard one is the most stable 4.81 I used so far, where is your cobra one? @aldostools needs some help with his projects so any stable cobra CFW is welcomed :)
