PS3 4.81 OVERFLOW CFW Collection ( Standard CEX / NO-BD / COBRA 7.3 / DualBoot) v1.00

Maybe something from: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:Patches#FSELF_patch_appldr

Thank you, it turns out that it was not the patches,
It was gxemu and netemu broken files from windows compilation,
using this setup:
psl1ght MinGW
SDK 3.60 with updated files from 4.50

Along with editing the setup as I learned from @haxxxen it has fully compiled on windows
and is fully working (I believe but not had chance to test on bc model yet)
the setup i used was:
pslight MinGW
SDK 3.60

There is nothing you can do. Your console model is not compatible with CFW.

An alternative would be to use a Cobra ODE (http://www.team-cobra-ode.com/) to play game backups on ntfs external hdd.
Or you can use the new OFW 4.70 hack detailed here as it works on 4.81. A list of compatible games remains to be established though.

bguerville, is there a way to install multiman to my ps3?

thanks pinky for the info.. :) I hope soon will have a compatible firmware to jailbreak my ps3..

I could be wrong of course, but that is probably never going to happen, there is not much incentive for devs/hackers to waste time on those models when there are already millions of hackable PS3s available to buy that have the same features.

This is just my opinion, Here is what i would do: Don't wait for a jailbreak/CFW for your model PS3, I would suggest you sell your current PS3 and buy a used slim (newest model you can find that is still jailbreakable), Either buy it already with CFW installed, or buy an OFW console and pay someone to downgrade and put CFW on it for you.

It will only probably cost you about 40-50 euro extra on top of what you get for your current ps3, and it will be well worth it. ;)

I have a collection of documents with info about something that I would like to try and do in the future,
I have been reading about the per console keys 0,1 and N,
There is small documentation on an idea that it may be possible to use these keys to decrypt files,
long story short making it possible to make a console specific cfw for super slims or indeed any model ps3,
It's obviously not that simple but that's the end goal,
when I get a good length of free time me and a friend are going to look into getting those keys from the bootloader and try to enact the theory,
of course at the moment it's only theory but one that is sound,
I'm not sure if it will actually work or if it's been done before but I would like to try as it seems interesting.

Thanks digging the new v5 Cobra build

@Bobby_Downgrades what files needed to be modded to add the update warnings and the ability to run fself's?

For the update warnings,
npsignin plugin.rco and software update plugin,
with the fselfs a little more complicated,
there is a check in the appldr which checks the validity of the file, the check says no for fself and yes for retail, you patch the appldr to say yes,
then the vsh and lv2 also do checks while the loading process and both must be patched.

for fself, all the info you needed is in this post

http://www.psx-place.com/threads/running-fself-on-cex-cfw-d.2598/

Huge thanks to CMX and @haxxxen for researches :)

I didn't realise this method was so old,
and I didn't know that with using fself files there is no need for resigning higher keys,
I never noticed that, but I always tried to use the latest cfw available,
Also I didn't know you had done work on that, I came across a rogero 4.55 with nobd patches you had applied, you have done a lot of stuff, I have the root key dumper you worked on,
you seem to enjoy working on things, a bit like me I find many things interesting.

@Bobby_Downgrades. off topic again but was looking at a few ceramic white ps3s for sale on feebay and wanted your input here before i make my purchase. is there a certain console that is more desirable? i see my options are between an 80 gb or a 40 gb model, are both the same? are either of them bc? i noticed they both only seem to have 2 usb ports so these are nor model ps3s correct? just want to be sure i can downgrade after purchase. i already have two phat black ps3s one a nand and one a nor, so if i absolutely had to i could swap in one of those mb, im basically buying it for the case alone. its a shame that i cant just get a shell replacement like with the slim 2k and 3k series. thanks
