PS3 4.81 playerkp420 COBRA 7.3

Following Playerkp420 4.81 Dualboot Firmware & 4.81 Standard CEX, The developer has released his first Cobra CFW. This release contains all the feature within the standard build and also provides the Cobra v7.3 payload, which gives us various features such as background loading plugins, ISO, NetISO support and much more.

Patches & Features

  • I am proud to share with you my 4.81 CFW with Cobra 7.3.

    This CFW has the same patches and features as my NON COBRA Release, but also has Cobra 7.3 added to it!

    • All features of Cobra 7.3 added.
    • LV1 & LV2 Peek&Poke
    • Patch core OS Hash check core os for 4.xx // product mode always on
    • LV1 to allow mapping of any memory area
    • Skip all ACL Checks
    • Disable System Integrity Check
    • Patch Update Manager to enable QA (if qa flag already set before install, or set flag with 4.xx toggle qa app)
    • Removed ECDSA
    • Install Packages & App/Home
    • IN GAME SCREEN SHOT
    • ReactPSN ONLINE/OFFLINE, run apps unsigned & more!
    • Disabled epilepsy message
    • Removed and patched wait for coldboot view sleep for turbo boot to XMB.
    • Remote Play & Make Remote Play SFO Flag obsolete.
    • ENFORCED ORIGINAL GAMEBOOT ANIMATION.
    • Disable Cinavia Protection
    • Alphabetical sort for game column.
    • Waves & PSN Icons changed.

I will need to figure this tar permissions thing out. That is something I haven't had much success with is repacking .PUP files with something else besides PUAD or MFW Builder.

I think you can just use tar under Linux or in cygwin & ensure that all permissions are 644.

There are those old tools as well but I have not tried them all before, only some of them...

I used the fix_tar_v3.exe in the first link there. I read somewhere that renaming it it fix_tar_PUAD.exe and overwriting the one in C:\Program Files\Akatsuki\PUAD GUI\bin\ps3tools would work.

I thought it worked because psp games were working after. But I did read later on that joonie said it will cause problems somewhere else.

I think I know what I need to do now.

ha ha, hey said "tar balls" . thinking of making the jump the to 4.81 today. i have tried many CFW's and rebug is #1 (sorry playerkp420) then it would be playerkp420. all other i have issues with in some way or another. think i might wait for a fix to this. looks pretty solid and cant wait to try.
on another note is version spoofing still working for rebug, or did they change all pass phrases?
anyways thanx @playerkp420 and cant wait for a fix.

You can just use SEN Enabler with rebug 4.80.1. Or if on DEX side, I believe there is no need to spoof at all.

@playerkp420 - about alphabetizing - u might try changing the explore_view.txt to titleForSort instead of title to see if it alphabetizes correctly. the explore_view.txt and the registory.xml both mirror each other in that "title" alphabetizes. titleForSort is what dlc/updates normally use, and it alphabetizes correctly with Upper and Lower case letters. title is also usable with the category_game.xml (dlc, updates, etc.) iirc, so that's just a suggestion. u wouldn't be able to add it to a cfw unfortunately. the explore_view.txt is created, so that each user has their own custom sorting mechanic. I suppose it's similar to the .dat white list files of the vita in that vs0: creates the ur0: white list files since it's read only as compared with read and write. that was probably sony's thinking anyway.

@bitsbubba - the quality or state of being a bitsiboo. maybe my obsession with him is y he slept with one eye open while we were at summer camp together. I did manage to get him to take off that hot, sweaty mask of his though. ;)

I think this is a scandal in the making. ;) I'd be involved in a pseudo-gay relationship with my campaign manager (u) after it was revealed as teens we shared a bunk together during summer camp.
