not really looking for the extra features just mainly something to mount them or install them into the hdd. other than multiman which would you recommend (i.e. which is currently the best one to use with the ferrox cobra 4.82)?

Read again my reply... I already recommended 4 backup managers and 3 plugins. All are good options.

I meant out of the backup managers you listed which one would you recommend?

flsh.hex on root of USB in far right port?
miniwed setup correctly and running?
good wired connection?
PS3 browser home page set to blank?

I ask these questions because you are still not exploited as to why you keep getting that error
I didn't use the mimweb because it didn't work I used a sever and yes fish.hex is in root of usb also folder "PS3" inside ps3 is "Update" inside that is the cfw update install lots of other people are having the same problem to, and changing the usb stick don't help either.

actually if you look carefully at the comments someone has posted their site that they upload the files to for those who want to use the xploit

also make sure the usb drive you are using is atleast 2GB to a max of 8GB. I have confirmed with sony that the ps3's for some reason really dislike super large flash drive types.

Just to clarify, I was originally using a 32 GB and a 64 GB flash drive for the update.pup files and not once would my PS3 slim detect the files. Wasn't until Sony told me about the size limitation, pulled out my old 2 GB drive and voila it registered the files...some models apparently dont have a preference while some models do. I find this to be really weird and confusing (best not to dwell on it) lol

can you give us the table of the models with and without that limitations?

That was just a slight theory of mine based on the others stating they had no problems. Plus Sony never gave me that kind of information. They just merely stated 2-8 GB drives were recommended for updating the firmware via storage...so?

I used a 128gb usb3 thumb drive :D
I know the ps3 doesn't have usb3, but it was quicker to copy the pup from PC ;)
Had no problems.
