PS3 4.82 NoBD CFW Options ( REBUG / FERROX / OVERFLOW ) : Unable to boot Apps / Games from PS3 XMB?

Here is a type of CFW for PlayStation 3 consoles with a broken BD Logic Board/Drive and contains an issue of not being able to boot anything from the PS3 XMB. It does not matter if the content is stored on the DISC or HDD, you can not launch anything from the XMB with PS3 Console's contain this defect. If that sounds like a PS3 console you have laying around or know someone who might have that issue, there is good news as there is an easy fix (Yes, Sony its easy and Sony should issue this patch themselves). Simply by disabling & patching the Disc drive, developer's in the PS3 community have found out this allows those otherwise useless consoles to launch items once again from the PS3 XMB, So play your purchased Content from PSN / Disc Backups ect/ Purchase things from PSN store/ play video & use services once again on your PS3. noBD CFW for a majority will never be used, but is a great option for PS3 owners that are otherwise stuck with a broken console that would only use would be a power hungry screensaver. So lets take a look at some of the NoBD CFW options and favors we have seen released to this point

Additional Info & Downloads:

Additional CFW & Homebrew updates for 4.82 can be seen in this thread:
psx-place.com

(Not all homebrew needs an update to support a new firmware release)

I don't understand why many update anyway if you want to play online cex to dex 2min and go online. And if you want to play offline you just stay on the firmware you have no disadvantages and Dex have Auto Spoof you do not need a SEN Enabler :)

Why wrong information are there problems with new firmwares? Yes is the answer and Dex have Auto Spoof is right :D

1. DEX does not have auto spoof. What you call a spoof is only a target id swap as dex target id prohibits PSN access without a licensed developer account.
2. DEX can but should actually not be used for gaming by most users. It's a development mode. It's mostly being used by modders who have spread a lot of wrong info all over the net.
3. The best & recommended way to use PSN is in CEX mode along with psnpatch plugin (or SEN plugin).

Yes exactly for modder is that psn patch brings nothing :)
Except using cheats or modded games online is totally uncool, there is no great love for that practice here.

The bans are actually most likely not at Sony'sinitiative but rather asked for by some game makers who can detect your CFW & your mods when you connect to their game servers, no matter what you do for protection. Any anti ban method that may work today may not work tomorrow anymore so it is always risky anyway.
Most don't bother but a few do & it's enough for some users to get banned.
Respect the network & you won't get banned...
Don't respect it at your own perils...
That's the advice that should be given to noobs & not "use DEX it is a free for all".

And of course, be wary of those very few risky games like the cod series..

I may have made a mistake and should have waited for one of the above NoBD firmwares. I barely got OFW 4.82 to install without constantly failing. What are the odd's of (or how) to revert back to a NoBD firmware if I already installed Rebug 4.81.2 with Syscon 4.82? Don't want to make a great situation worse. Maybe no action is the best action.

Since the syscon is changed to 4.82 and your installing a 4.82 NoBD. you will have no issues updating to any of these noBD CFW from that CFW.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't it be possible to patch out BD/BT checks for updating firmwares as part of PS3xploit so that people with broken BD/BT can update their OFW to a supported firmware?
