PS3 4.85.1 REBUG LITE CFW with new COBRA v8.2 Released

Developer Joonie of Team Rebug has announced today the latest cfw release (following 4.84.2 rex) of the REBUG brand. This is not the iconic REX flavor of PS3 Custom Firmware, which is a hybrid of dex/cex, In order for the creation of REX, the team is dependent and still in search for file's needed for the creation of REX (4.85 DEX PUP). However, they have the LITE version (a CEX based Cobra CFW) ready to go for 4.85 user's seeking a new 4.85 CFW. This is a welcomed update from Team Rebug as the 4.85 PS3 CFW landscape has been a bit light in choices (for 4.85). So having the developer's with one of the best name's in Custom,Firmware development is great to see now as an available option. Also, they have updated the Cobra payload to now version 8.2 & also the Rebug Toolbox has been updated (toolbox addon requires installation in "install package files" pkg is waiting for you there after installing REBUG) You can checkout all the feature's/patche's in the provided list below for this PlayStation 3 Custom FirmWare and then checkout full details/documentation of the release at rebug.me the official website (direct link found at bottom of article).

Also note that 4.85 SPY COBRA CFW has also been a good/stable CFW flavor as well , more details on that release can be Seen here. Also note that SPY Cobra CFW will not be using the latest Cobra v8.2 (without an update) as its debuting here on 4.85.1 REBUG Lite. ​

maybe your system have the extension option be ticked therefore the extension will be invisible so your file will have double PUP extension meaning actual name can be PS3UPDAT.PUP.PUP

Click on Display->Options->Display Tab->Scroll down till you see hide file extension and untick it

no man USB functionality has no link to blueray drive only during the update ps3 will show error code 8002F14E cause BD Drive is missing but it should do the first phase which is Preparing to Update or HDD format if new one is putted instead the one that was before

Yes I know, that's why I'm trying to figure out why I cant update via USB... nothing is wrong with my USB or the ports on the PS3... idk man...

The flash drive is MBR, not GPT...
Yes I can use and charge the controllers...
I just want to say that it finally read my flash drive after checking for update for 30+ minutes, then another 30 min for preparing for the format but then I get the error 8002F14E because my bluray drive is completely missing, that's why it takes so long to read the flash drive... I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that's why Im having slow USB speed and the error because no BD drive.

If OFW 4.86 is out then CFW 4.86 can be created Cause every new CFW is Create by the Base of new OFW , if you saw one internet then its a spoofed, CoreOS version modded

REX/D-REX versions can only be made if the 4.85 DEX FW is leaked to Team REBUG by someone who has access to it which now will be be very few people as the PS3 is reaching its end of life as REX/D-REX CFW's are mane from mainly DEX FW with a bit of Retail FW.

And considering that DEX, CEX and SEX FW versions are released at the same time I doubt we will see a 4.85 REX/D-REX version or I would have thought one would have been released by now if there was going to be one.

 

I updated this cfw and everything went fine then ps3 restarted without rebug as it has ofw 4.85 in the system information. i tried reinstall it again but got same results.
i tired installing hfw then after i searched the web for a solution, hfw installation went fine again but nothing changed.
i used to updating my cfw without any problems why this occurred this time ?

snes9x-ps3-v4.4.9-fw1.92.pkg doesn't work with this updated 4.85.
when i run it (snes), I get the error 80010017
