This is not the iconic REX flavor of PS3 Custom Firmware, which is a hybrid of dex/cex, In order for the creation of REX, the team is dependent and still in search for file's needed for the creation of REX (4.85 DEX PUP). However, they have the LITE version (a CEX based Cobra CFW) ready to go for 4.85 user's seeking a new 4.85 CFW. Also, they have updated the Cobra payload to now version 8.2 & also the Rebug Toolbox has been updated (toolbox addon requires installation in "install package files" pkg is waiting for you there after installing REBUG) You can checkout all the feature's/patche's in the provided list below for this PlayStation 3 Custom FirmWare and then checkout full details/documentation of the release at rebug.me the official website (direct link found at bottom of article).

Also note that 4.85 SPY COBRA CFW has also been a good/stable CFW flavor as well , more details on that release can be Seen here. Also note that SPY Cobra CFW will not be using the latest Cobra v8.2 (without an update) as its debuting here on 4.85.1 REBUG Lite.

Possible problems wil Rebug 4.85.1 LE. I've just copied and deleted 490GB of videos from off my PS3 with 1TB drive. System is saying that I have 11GB of space left. Have rebooted and checked in MultiMan and Rebug toolkit and get the same storage space being reported. Is this a common problem and how do I retrieve the space?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Not lost the videos, just the space on the PS3 that they was taking up.
Image here of video properties copied over and shows 490GB but NOT that showing on PS3

Do you think reinstalling Rebug again will fix the problem.. All the videos were on there before installing Rebug so could that be the problem?

try "check file system". you can find it under "custom firmware tools" in network column or in safe mode.

Reinstalled Rebug - still the same. Tried file system and rebuilding database and still the same. I've got 110GB of videos yet to copy over in "UNKNOWN" folder now so going to copy them over with the XMB but delete them through Multiman to see if that solves the problem. If it doesn't, then I'll format the drive and start fresh with Rebug.. It's just that it takes so long to download my purchased games from off the PSN Store.. Took me 60 hours last time but that was with 3G wifi. Now have 4G so should be slightly faster. Unlimited data anyway so not really a problem if I've got to start fresh..I'm just worried that it will happen again.

I'll post outcome here anyway.

Thank you for suggestions and help.
I've looked at all the options in Multiman and Rebug Toolkit and can't see anything in those that would help either - tried them if they looked useful but nothing.

unfortunately, losing space is just something that happens sometimes. I think there's a way to get it back if you look for it. at least the 360 doesn't have this problem. I have 800+GBs of just dlc and title updates:

I have had a Xbox 360 but didn't like it. I couldn't get it to interface with my laptop on the network. I use my phone as a wifi hotspot and the X360 wouldn't show up. It was fine accessing the hotspot but wouldn't be part of the network where the PS3 did. Had PS3 and X360 together. I ended up taking it back for a refund. The X360 controllers would drift when used on my laptop too but no problems with DS3 pad on laptop (Win 10). I use scptoolkit for that anyway.

I've got another PS3 setup with same Rebug but not used it yet - only 40Gb.. I might throw some movies onto that and delete them and see what happens. Will have a look first when headache as cleared a bit for solution about missing space. I used Multiman earlier to copy the other 110Gb of movies over to external drive and deleted them through Multiman as well.. I gained about 9Gb of space doing it that way. I'll find the solution anyway and post it here. Just never had this problem with OFW and wondering if the 4.86 update includes some crafty routines not picked up by the devs of CFW that does this if some calls to the OFW are not met. Just a thought.

What folders will I need to copy over to save my games. I know that Game is one but what are the others - edat, etc.
Any help would be appreciated as I could copy the whole drive over if I have to. I just don't fancy doing the downloading again from PSN Store.. Download list is massive and unable to delete stuff from there due to Sony's policies - which are stupid imho..
Thanks in advance as reformatting and starting fresh with Rebug this time instead of OFW for a while then update to Rebug later.
It will be easier than trying to find answers. 1 person even suggested deleting Multiman as it takes up some space.. NOT 600Gb worth tho.. lol - But I might as well try it as nothing to lose.. :biggrin2:

At least now we know what the problem is with storage space going missing on PS3. It took over 1 hour to delete Multiman from PS3. Everything fine now. Just got the videos that I deleted with Multiman showing up on XMB. No big issue.. Will make sure they are copied over and delete them and see what happens then. 95Gb this time.. lol.. I'm gonna have some fun later finding where stuff is stored in MM folder..:devilish:

maybe this was your issue...in multiman it says something about making videos from xmb playable in multimans showtime/movian. when i did this it basicly made a virtual copy of all my videos. they were listed in two places but only one real copy. maybe when you deleted xmb vids, the multiman copies stayed. when you deleted multiman, all his folders got deleted including the video copies because they were the only "linked" copy left.

because of this i only use standalone movian for videos. i dont try to play video from multiman.

Funnily enough now I can remember doing that before getting Movian so your probably right. I was just testing MKV support but not using internal HDD for videos anymore. That is why I bought the SATA 2Tb drive and USB adapter. Just so I could copy movies from laptop to the HDD and then plug into PS3 and watch the videos on the TV. Everything seems fine with it now.
Thank you for pointing this out to me - I won't do it again. lol
I appreciate the help as a little new to CFW but not new to computers/consoles.. Started with an Atari 2600 VCS back in 1979 and got a Commodore Vic 20 in 1983 and that was the start of it. Had computer/console since.

not sure what happened there. I use a hotspot for my psp (never 360). I have a jtag, so I can't sign in anyway, but I can connect to it from my pc. you just can't map a network drive with smb 1.0. the ps3 and the 3ds are the same way.
