Hi there. To answer your questions.
1. You don't need to install CFW twice, but you can reinstall it as many times as you like without a problem. CFW is installed via System Update on the XMB, like how you installed HFW.
2. You can install another 4.85 CFW directly, but to install a lower CFW version like 4.84 you first need to enable your QA flag. This will allow you to move up and down between firmware versions freely.
As for CFW 4.85, there are currently three trustworthy versions available. The most recent - Ferrox Cobra - was added to this thread just today. More CFW for 4.85 may emerge in the future, but for now there's three excellent choices available. Of course, toggling on the QA flag like I mentioned will let you install CFW of a lower version than 4.85. Hope this answers your questions.![]()
nope the button will stay swapped even if you return to CEX or you change CFW buttons will be the same as you change themHi, is it possible to install cobra 8.2 on 4.84.2 REX at least for CEX mode? The only feature that I use from dex's debug options is X and O swapping, if I update to this cfw is there a way to swap them or if I update the current behavior is maintained? Thanks
Man i told last time to wait if he think to release 4.84 cobra 8.2 you can brick (even perma-brick that cannot be recovered) your ps3Mr. @Joonie, it is possible to create a CFW Rebug 4.84.3 REX EDITION WITH COBRA 8.20,
as I do not want to upgrade to REBUG 4.85 LITE, but I am interested in the new features regarding PSN activation.
I ask this because I saw on github of @Evilnat, this:
https://github.com/Evilnat/Cobra-PS3/tree/master/8.2/4.84/REBUG/REX/BIN.
So my question is this, would it be possible to integrate the cobra 8.20 into the 4.84 REBUG firmware?
Integration of the following files replacing the files prior to 8.1 can create brick problems?
The files:
(to be replaced in CorOS?)
- lv2Dkernel.bin
- lv2Ckernel.bin (is lv2_kernel.self in CorOS?)
(to be replaced in dev_flash / ps2emu?)
- ps2_emu.self
- ps2_gxemu.self
- ps2_netemu.self
- ps2_gxemu_stage2.bin
- ps2_hwemu_stage2.bin
(to be replaced in dev_flash / rebug / cobra?)
- stage2.cex
- stage2.dex
If file replacement is possible, how can the replacement be done?
Thanks for everything.

Nope thats not the case Evilnat files are correct but better wait for joonie to update cobra payload in rebug rather then you do it cause if your console dead ,you don't have dump before and hardware flash then there is possibility to say good bye to your ps3

Perma brick cannot be fixed as it perma 'permanent' even with E3,Teensy,ProgskeetThanks,
So if there is a Permabrick, can't I flash the NOR even with an E3 Flasher or a Tensy?
Also doing the Nor Flash with Mod external power supply of the E3 Flasher?
Your PS3 is on D-REX (DEX Converted) you can't install normal CFW (CEX) and seems that your Debug Settings option System Debug Update set to ON you need to convert back to CEX using Rebug Toolbox to be able to install 4.85 CFWHow to fix this pls i tried every think
