The PS3 4.85 CFW landscape is gathering some familiar names after a bit of a slow start after the 4.85 OFW Update, We seen Rebug Lite released last week, Now we have cfw developer @Alexander releasing 4.85 FERROX (COBRA v8.20) Custom Firmware for the PS3 (for models capable of cfw installs). This is an updated version of Alexander's FERROX brand containing all the usual's like XMB MOD installer for extra features like the CyberModding Homebrew Store, while updating to 4.85 and also the latest cobra version 8.20 that debuted on Rebug 4.85 Lite.   The installer was introduced in the Custom Firmware when installing FERROX. This means you will always have it available, without having to use a USB stick. To install the PKG, just go to the Package Manager, and navigate to Install File Package - Internal Storage of the PS3 system. The installer will always be there, but if you want you can delete it via File Manager from the dev_blind / ferrox / pkg directory.
  
  The use is really simple, there is not much to explain.
  You can install the Mods, and you can reinstall the original files at any time from the installer. Ditto for the Store.​

Please fix this problem.
When i install ferrox 4.85. The systém will not play ps2 disc or iso games at all. I tried multiman and Managunz. After installing rebug lite 4.85 everything works fine. Installed ferrox again the ps2 games dont work at all.
Im on Ceche04

 

always when i use rebug and try to load an iso for the first time with the game cold i cant play because after loading iso and booting , the console gives me 3 bips and shuts off
with ferrox this doesn't happen but i only can use iso via software, via hardware i get black screen. could you fix this?
i have a cecha01 60gb

 

I have an issue with GOW3 ONLY. All other games work so far. I have tried internal, external, Folder and ISO versions with latest version of Multiman. I own the original disc and it works fine on OFW 4.85 but not in Ferrox 4.85 CFW. I get a black screen after the SONY PRESENTS screen. Anyone have any ideas?

 

Hello guys, it's been a long time since I have been messing with my ps3, but I powered it up today and thought about updating from 4.75. Mainly because I'd like to update the games I have installed and not get banned. Should I stay using Multiman to run the games or should I try something new?

 

I can´t play PS2 games with HD resolution, and with 4.84 firmware I could do it
Does someone why do I can´t now?

I don't believe this has a nobd patch. you'll need to install a nobd patched firmware. I know there's one for rebug lite (not sure about ferrox), but use with caution as they're not official updates by the devs who created the original cfw.

I have test the CFW and my consoles and it works with JB Format and ISO if someone want to see i can make a video

hey did you try Ferrox 4.85 after exploit from HFW because it always give me an error, and tried your Spy and it worked

No it works always check MD5 after downloading cause file may damage

I Face this problem last week when i test noBD,if you don't have a working Logic Board the Virtual BlueRay Icon made by Cobra will not show when you mount any game but you can play them from app_home folder , to get the BlueRay Icon to show you need to connect any working Logic Board between the drive and motheboard even not married

guys i updated my ps3 for a overflow nobd patch and i can't play games the games don't appear on xmb i don't know how i can resolve i downloaded ferrox non bd patch but wen i try update him says
