fIt has been a busy week and especially for the PS3, First we had introduction of bguerville PS3 Toolset (which introduce a new ps3 Exploit along with some powerful tools). Then we had 4.86 Official Firmware dropped (no exploits patched) Then developer @Joonie of Team Rebug was quick to release an updated HybridFirmWare (for PS3HEN user's when an update to PS3HEN arrives for those nonCFW models) and now the developer follows that with the release of 4.86.1 REBUG LITE Edition, supplying us with one of the best firmware as the first option for 4.86 Custom Firmware Choices.

This CFW comes equipped Cobra 8.2 payload, this payload provides various features some of those highlights include background running plugins, burnt optical media support as well as ISO Support are a few of the many Cobra features included in v8.2. The release details found below detail the various features & patches found in this CFW release. Also it's worth checking out at the download location (link below) the additional info and ":how to" information pertaining to use of REBUG LITE's CFW functionality. Note: that currently as of writing this some homebrew still needs to catch up fully for 4.86 support to on par with 4.85 and previous FW's . So it's not advised to rush in quite yet, if some bugs discourage you,. Until then, keep a watch HERE as those updates roll through, since there was no kernel changes to the 4.86 update most homebrew should still be functional on 4.86 with no update but some could have minor/moderate issues.

Hi, I'm completely new to this all, had HEN on my my PS3 couldn't play PKG games so ended up installing HAN followed the steps and could play the game then. Realised I never used the resingner software with HEN that's why I could not play the game. So long story short I flashed 4.86.1 rebug and successfully jailbreak my ps3 first time for me as I used HEN and HAN most of the time now my problem is I can't play that PKG game anymore. Do I need to install HEN or HAN again or what? Sorry if this is a stewpid question.

This is easy, Go to PlayStation Store and re-download the pkg and install.
You can do this on OFW even

okay im gonna give you some advice...

1. if rebug is working on ps3 then keep rebug. do not downgrade. do not install han/hen/hfw/cfw. if rebug is working...leave it alone.

2. You do not need resigner.

3. Get your games from sony or buy disc. this is the only way you know they will work or can get your money back.

4. Install newest rebug toolbox (it is in pkg installer). open it goto last column. enable qa flag. after qa flag is enabled do not disable.

5. Read the forum rules.

6. Do not flash again without asking someone first.

7. Read the guides on this site. (remember you are on cfw now so only do cfw things...no hen han hfw ofw)

8. Do not convert to dex. you are on cex and you only change/upgrade for new rebug. (rebug rex is better but current rex is older so online play will not work without extra steps).

9. Do not run homebrew while online.

10. If you do not have webman mod then you need webman mod.

11. Let webman mod control your fan. If its too loud...try it a few days and maybe you get used to it. If you dont want webman mod then at least use something else to control fan.

12. Before trying ps2 game you will need to make sure your ps3 plays all ps2 or only some ps2. (if you put in ps2 disc and it plays then you can play all ps2 games except maybe one or two. if you cant play ps2 disc then your game may not play on your ps3.

13. If you break your ps3 its your fault. remember that. Dont throw it away...give to someone who can use it for parts at least (leave the hard drive in it please). Tell them to use this site because it was your fault and there people here who care about your ps3.

14. If somebody helps you then you should thank them (or at least click like).

15. Dont cheat online...you will lose psn access.

16 Dont use game mods...most are only for dex anyway. (you do not want dex)

maybe not...4.85 and 4.83 never got rex edition...files that possibly only sony has are needed to make rex. the best you can do is use rex 4.84 and spoof if you need online play

If you're on Rebug 4.76 CEX (Lite), put latest 4.86.1 Lite on a flashdrive and update FW via system update on your PS3.

There is no need to follow this guide, because he has CFW (Rebug 4.76),
so there is no need to flash memory once again or install HFW.

CFW from lower to higher can be installed directly.

To install lower CFW, you need to enable QA flag.
After that you can install lower firmware.

 

That is why i am looking for help.. because there is so many ways now.. i want the detailed one.. i am already at 4.76 rebug..

Is there a way that PS2 emu also have Polish fonts?
Currently options looks like that:

Missing "ę" is 1st string.
Another "ę" in 4th string.
Once again "ę" in 5th string.
"ł" & "ą" in 6th string.
Another "ł" & "ą" in 7th string.

Also it should be "Poziom naładowania", not "Poziom naadania".

I have tried to moved it into "/dev_flash/data/font":

But I cannot replace this file.
Maybe I should do it with multiMAN or in other place?
multiMAN freezes when I want to replace "SCE-PS3-DH-R-CGB.TTF" in "/dev_flash/data/font".

Are there any alternatives for these apps\scripts?

 

You need to enable dev_flash write. Then copy fils to dev_blind. You can do that in webman settings. Remeber that messing with flash can be dangerous.

 

I've found that option in webMAN MOD:
Enable /dev_blinf (writable /dev_flash) on startup...

But I don't know where I need to put this file?
I should only try "/dev_flash/data/font" or even "/dev_flash/bdplayer" (probably... BD... player),
or somewhere else?
