Aahhh, can't find it now, but I saw a post where someone asked about using cfw while we wait. DON'T! If you value your firmware, just let it be. I logged on after fixing some problems, and immediately got prompted to update to 4.88. Of course, I didn't. But I thought it was going to force the update for a second. It just will NOT let you onto psn if your firmware is anything but 4.88. I tried to custom spoof with SEN and PSNPatch, but no go. I just shut down after that and weby rawdawg on my superslim. Just like old times. Btw, can i use HEN/HFW 4.88 over top of the new update? My SS auto updated, forgot I had that turned on. Been a while. Thx guys.

if you installed webman, yes it is normal. the default fan speed is very low (20% i think?). webman sets it 35% on HEN.

I bought my ps3 and already had hen, I do not understand any of this.
I wanted to upgrade to 4.88 and it always hits 66% and ends, it says "data corrupted".
now in system info it appears as seen in the picture, but i can't update and i can't log into psn either, it says i have to update.
If someone could help me I appreciate it

the picture shows "4.87". you need HFW 4.88 to use PSN.

I recommend that you use an official HEN. we can not support any unofficial ones because we do not know what has been changed. goto **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) for official HEN.

try to reinstall 4.87 HFW. then try 4.88 again.

they just edited a file to say 4.88. it is still on 4.87

Download the instalation file from here:

there is 2 parts. Just download both and unpack it.
Then rename the 488HFW.PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP and install it on your PS3.

After install everything, on PS3 browser, go to "http://**ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)/" and proceed with HEN instalation from there.

Try installing without any USB device connected. By default wMM scans for games when it starts.

If there are many games, the scanning may take few minutes.
Go to http://0/setup.ps3 then uncheck the scanning on startup, save and restart.

Also check that /dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/category_game.xml was not replaced by another homebrew.

Does this new wMM version work on 4.87? I rebuilt the databse trying to fix a problem but now my old wMM is not working so I thought it´d a nice opportunity to update it while I wait for CFW 4.88
