PS3 4.88 Update is Live! - Official HFW & HEN Released

I am waiting on confirmation of HFW structure or OFW version used from @zecoxao before making final packages, to know if any SPRX files need 4.88 replacements, due to silk_webkit.sprx swap. You can go to the GitHub page (https://github.com/PS3Xploit/PS3HEN) to get files and host HTML/JS yourself. It will install PS3HEN 3.0.3 by using a pre-release package that shares the same structure as 4.87. If any SPRX files get added to or removed from final packages, you can use the XMB updater under HFW Tools or download final packages and/or developer zips when finalized, like normal.

...or wait until all packages are done and tested :eek:

EDIT #1: Self-Hosting HTML/JS/P3T files (GitHub), including debug version, under /html/hen_installer/offline_local

EDIT #2:
i did a folder compare (4.88 OFW vs 4.88 HFW) and only 2 files (mtpinitiator_plugin.sprx and explore_category_tv.sprx) were different, besides webkit

Same answer as everything in life and as everybody else who has asked about 4.88 CFW/HEN has gotten.

The ETA is "when they're done".

People asking for an ETA doesn't speed anything up. If anything it slows it down since answering "When it's done." over and over wastes valuable dev time.

thanks but i wont update my ps3 till the official exploit is available to use and it pops up on my xmb to update just ion case

I wonder what did they change in category TV.
 
I agree with a few others on here: Everyone just be patient, wait, and stop asking for any ETA. All the solutions will be updated in due time, a few days of downtime isn't a big deal. If it is for you, let this be a lesson to stop updating as soon as a firmware update is available. We've only had how many years to figure this out?

The teams and community always comes through in a big way, and this time around it sounds like there's very good reason to wait a bit and fully test everything. In regards to what @habib and @Evilnat have mentioned for online authentication.

TL;DR - Wait. There's good reason to wait. And stop updating as soon as a new update goes live.
