PS3 4.90 update

Hello, I know very little about jailbreaking a ps3. I got into jailbreaking through a friend who "knew the way to play ps3 games for a cheap price". Later I learned that my ps3 was jailbroken. Anyways, whenever the new update comes, I wait for you guys (devs and community, thank you for your work) to release the jailbreak of a new version, and I pay one local guy who jailbreaks my console (I don't know how, and don't have everything needed). I have a superslim, so I use HEN.
Haven't played ps3 in a while and know that I my ps3 is not up to date (it's on 4.89) and I want to play online. So, my question is: Is the 4.90 update jailbreak (HEN) all finished and ready so I could go to this local guy and have him update it? Could there be any problems if the jailbreak is done incorrectly?

jailbreaking does not make games cheaper, unless you steal them. we do not support that here.

has been for a long time. you can easily do it yourself for free. my hen guide is HERE and my firmware updating guide HERE. you can also watch @MrMario2011 on youtube.

yes, but most problems are fixable. your console can be damaged if power is lost during firmware update install. this can happen even with normal sony update.

Thank you so much! I will actually try to do it myself. I think I will be a fun experience, and I will get to know more about jailbreaking.
P.S.
By playing games for cheap, I meant that you can play games without actual disks. No stealing of course
