Make sure that you make a dump of your flash memory on USB.

Then the patch flash to allow CFW installation. Dump your flash again to verify it was patched properly.

Install Evilnat 4.90 if the flash process was successful. Do not turn off your console if the process fails. Ask for help in the forum.


DO NOT turn off your console while the flash is written. It can brick your console if the process is interrupted.

Thanks but where to find a PS3FlashDump490OFW.bin file ?
 
Unfortunately, the PS3 still freezes in Evilnat 4.90 PEX as soon as I click "Enable FTP" in "Cobra Tools" with an USB device attached to it. I also had this issue in Evilnat 4.89.3 PEX.

I don't have ps3 to test but normally evilnat gave people what they wanted with extra things so ps2 should work also depending on your console if its A/B Full Backward or C/E Semi-Backward or the rest of models
 
Hello everybody.

I'm a noob, I've never jailbreak my PS3.
It is a FAT model, the very first.

Like an idiot, I updated to 4.90 OFW. :blue:

I did not find, is there a way to jailbreak please?
Or do you have to be patient?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but, so I just need to install this over any OFW or CFW PS3 and that's it right? Or do I need to do any additional steps? It's been a long time since I had to update my CFW, especially for a system that is still on OFW.

I have a fat PS3 that's on Cobra CFW, a slim PS3 that's on COBRA CFW, don't remember what version, for these I can just install this 4.90 Evilnat CFW over them and don't need to do anything else if I remember correctly, right?

Thing is I have another slim that's CECH 2501 and on OFW 4.66, but it's kernel supports firmware down to 3.50 so it should be CFW compatible. Do I need to take extra steps before I install Evilnat 4.90 on this one?
 
So I've updated my console from 4.8.4.2 coming from rebug dex, I notice that my console info shows LVL2 kernel: CEX
While my target type is showing: DEX
While running this firmware.

(I updated with the DEX fw file included.)

Just wondering if this is normal behaviour or if I can switch to dex completely with this FW.
