4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

So I've updated my console from 4.8.4.2 coming from rebug dex, I notice that my console info shows LVL2 kernel: CEX
While my target type is showing: DEX
While running this firmware.

(I updated with the DEX fw file included.)

Just wondering if this is normal behaviour or if I can switch to dex completely with this FW.

thanks

*disregard fixed it by installing d-pex and swapping the kernel.

Hi , sorry for the dumb question. I have a cfw console, i don't remember what version of the firmware actually. I remember I have used bgtoolset at time. There is any reason to update to the last firmware? Never play online. Thanks

@Evilnat appreciate thanks ,great work like always btw i guess you should fix some lines so it will be perfect :chuncky::chuncky:
  • Can be installed over +3.56 OFW (bguerville Toolset or PS3Xploit FlashWriter)
and some that say 4.89 to 4.90

My version is PS3 Slim CECH-2511A (3.60 FW)
Functional in version 3.60 FW?
Thanks.

I'm going to install CFW on a PS3 that I got with OFW 1.82 on it. From what I understand, I should be able to just download this latest version and install it through XMB. I just want to make sure there are no additional safety steps I should be taking. I was planning on checking the PUP file on the USB drive in MD5 checker before putting it in the PS3, but since I don't have a flash dump, there's nothing else to do right? Mr. Mario recommends installing the CFW twice, I assume this is a good idea? One last question is about PSN. I have some content that I bought on a different unit - should I log in and download that content prior to installing the CFW, or does it not matter as long as I disable syscalls after installation? Sorry if I'm asking silly questions, since I'm new to this I just don't want to skip anything out of ignorance that could help me avoid any potential disasters, and this whole this is a bit confusing, lol. If I brick it or get it banned I will be one unhappy camper.

You misunderstand that just for the CFW Changlog text you must check your console if it allow firmware 3.56 or less to be installed to have CFW if its 3.60 or more wait for HEN to be updated for 4.90

First of all thanks for the amazing CFW in no time.
I've installed the PEX flavour and was just looking around, in CEX2DEX tolls > show information everything is CEX but VSH which is DEX, it supposed to be like that? If I'm not mistaken in 4.89 it was all CEX

Got the Evilnat 4.90 PEX installed over a previous 4.89.3 version. However even with Webman updated I can't get custom fan controls to work. Hitting select+left or right does nothing to change the fan. It shows it is changing on XMB but no change is registered. Also fan does not dynamically change anymore once the set temp is reached.

Have you tried adjusting the fan settings in webMAN MOD setup page?

UPDATE* I had overlooked it did not update from the webman app to the latest version of webMAN MOD 1.47.44
I checked the github page and got the pkg from there and all works now. :)

A lot of Users reporting the same issue, maybe it's a server problem?

This issue is happening even on OFW, can you try 4.89 or lower + spoof to see if it downloads?

@Mello_1993 made a youtube video trying to download a purchased game and getting the same error on OFW 4.90

Server Side? something releated to the old kernel?

EDIT: IT IS SERVER SIDE, 4.89 ALSO HAS THIS ISSUE

I'm glad I'm not the only one having this issue.

EDIT: I no longer have this issue.
