I have reflashed the non-OC firmware twice in a row, I'm going to convert back to CEX and try that one before converting back to DEX

It appears no matter what file I use PEX/PEX OC - DPEX/DPEX OC, my ps3 always sees the file as OC in system update

I have also deleted all the downloaded files and only then downloaded a non-oc file to check so I have no clue what my slim is doing haha, I double checked the MD5's too all match

Edit: Okay, so after reboot its now reading all update files correctly, I was very confused when it was telling me Rebug is Evilnat DPEX OC haha

Edit 2: Right, so as soon as I flash any DPEX Fw it goes back to being overclocked guess I'm going back to PEX

OK, so this is for GEX games they're blasting with 0x80010003 on 5 different syscalls
this happens randomly, GEX dont have more RAM, its just "reference tool" but in reality all inside of gex is ps3 slim or CECH-A01 (357A)

i've been able to play some games on my PS3 but finally something happend and i've got blasted with

sys_game_watchdog_clear() ret:-2147418109 (0x80010003)
System Warning : no callback registered <----- THIS NEEDS TO GET CALLBACK!

and you know what result you will get after this? Game will refuse to boot and will pop-up a stupid error (in this case dongle not found)

i've been able to play Original GEX games untill i used updated version of Tekken 6, after this something happend and i cannot boot anymore to any 357/GEX game.

These do not allow SACD playback on CECHA01 models. I had to downgrade to REBUG 4.86.1 Lite to regain SACD playback.
 
Managed to soft brick my console with the CFW 4.90 and other tools...(by my own fault of course)

First of all, I successfully installed Evilnat CFW on my console (CECH-2004A) by doing the following operations:
  • Set the suggested settings like time, auto-updates, etc.
  • Self-hosted CFW tools(flash writer) on the browser.
  • Installed HFW, installed HFW second time.
  • Dumped original NOR (I still have a backup).
  • Patched NOR.
  • Installed Evilnat CFW, and after that installed webMan.
After my successful installation, I put PS1, PS2 and PS3 games on my console. They all worked…

The problem appeared after I tried to play THPS3 and my console crashed. The firmware tried to repair itself and broke my webMan. Now that my webman is broken I wanted to reinstall CFW and tried that through system update with flash drive (that was probably a mistake)…
CFW System update failed and I forever ended in update loop… Always exiting with 8002F176 error code on the same percentage of 23-24%…

Things I tried to fix the error and recover my console:
  • Tried to install OFW and HFW 4.90 on freshly formatted SSD with recovery, stops with the same code from before on the same percentage.
  • Tried to install CFWs on freshly formatted SSD (PEX-CEX, CEX, DEX, P-DEX), they all break with the new code which is titled "Corrupted Data" even before update start.
  • Everything was functional before this, so I tried to reassemble the console to make sure Blu-ray, wireless and other devices are properly connected to motherboard, changed CMOS battery with new, but the same problem persisted.
Anybody managed to get and fix the problem? Is hardware flasher my only hope now or is there any other software method to try?
 
Any one knows how to change FPS counter items?
I can remember someone here who has done that but can't remember who he was.
 
Thanks for the hard work. I have a question. I have already CWF 4.89 CEX (I think). I see that the DEX version have the option to change the region. I want this option bc my PS3 have NTSC region lock for PSX games and I want to play PAL PSX games.
So, how can I change from CEX to DEX? After doing the change, can I play PAL games? If not, I just need download the newer version of CEX and install it from USB or I need do more steps?

CFW makes your console region free for PS1 and PS2 games so you don't really need to convert to DEX. I have a PAL console (CECH-2504) and have no trouble playing NTSC PS1 games.
Please note that AFAIK the PS3 can't convert games, i.e., if you play a PAL game it will output a PAL signal. This is more of an issue if you use the analog output. Shouldn't be too much of a problem if you use HDMI, as long as your TV supports 50Hz refresh rate.
