4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

CFW makes your console region free for PS1 and PS2 games so you don't really need to convert to DEX. I have a PAL console (CECH-2504) and have no trouble playing NTSC PS1 games.
Please note that AFAIK the PS3 can't convert games, i.e., if you play a PAL game it will output a PAL signal. This is more of an issue if you use the analog output. Shouldn't be too much of a problem if you use HDMI, as long as your TV supports 50Hz refresh rate.

Oh ok, I get it. So now, I need to do something else to update the CWF? Or just download and install it via USB and select the "Install Update" option on the PS3?

If you're already on CFW and just want to update to a higher CFW version it's as easy as putting the new version on a FAT32 MBR USB disk and installing like you would install an official update.

I know this been asked probably soo many times - but just a quick check - I on evilnat 4.88, is OK to update straight to 4.90 ? = 4.90 on a FAT32 USB and install update ? Sry for asking, but not used for a while. tnx

@Evilnat
first off, I am embarassed and I am sorry for any inconviniences!

this is very urgent and important: I have checked and revised now the emer patch for 3rd party controllers, and it is wrong. the working patch is:

search for:
Code:
419E00402BBC007E
replace with:
Code:
380000012BBC007E

you can check with pseudo recovery

Seems that Twitter won't remain Twitter much longer.

Thank so much mate!! I will patch it asap
@Evilnat I've also run into this. Running 4.90.2 D-PEX beta 7 on DECH-2500A. Doesn't matter which region, even region free discs won't play. Doesn't matter if HDCP is enabled or not.

Hi, everybody!

800299D2 error when playing DVD on CFW Evilnat 4.90 Cobra 8.4 [DEX]

How can this be fixed?
I will take a look mate, I think it is a Cinavia issue and can be patched easily

This also happens with Blu-Ray movies.
AFAIK DEX was not supposed to be able to play movies but Rebug firmware patched it somehow if that's of any help.
You're awesome as always.
I don't have that error code, did you try to set Region Settings in Debug Settings with your country?

I will send you the BETA 10 to see if it works for you

The ps1 emu doesn't show the temps and does not have an in-game xmb

But on PS2 from CFW evilnat 4.90, it made it possible to view temperature in PS2 games. Why not the same with PS1 games?
Another thing, am I going crazy or in CFW 4.88 was it possible to check this during PS1 games?

because it does not use ingame XMB. either use IRISMAN or change pad init for temp combo in wMM source to vshpad

Bro...im a fucking newbie...I just don't understand what you mean.

it was a payload patched into ps2netemu, utilizing lv1 syscalls. it is not simply done and can be quite complex. doing the same to ps1netemu is not really needed, cause you still can access lv2 syscalls. but well, give a shot if you really want to have it, and don't expect others to do it for you!

forget about the 2nd statement, but to make it possible to view temps, you should use IRISMAN or any other backup manager to start your PSX game, and then you can use wMM and its temp pad combo in ingame XMB (have to press PS button ingame)

and sorry, this was already answered by Luan. have been blind at this very moment.

Why not use VshFpsCounter plugin to show an overlay notification with the temperature and FPS?
It shows the overlay on XMB, PS3, PSP or PS1 modes.

webMAN MOD already includes this plugin and it's loaded with L3+R3

NOTE: This plugin may be cause random crash, so it is not recommended to have it running all the time.

If I recall correctly, Tekken 6 is one of the games that have issues creating an ISO with multiMAN.

Dump your game again from the disc, and make the ISO with Rudy's ISO Tools or IRISMAN or try playing it from a GAMES folder.
