What is the easiest way to disable syscalls for PSN Store use? Like is it a button combo, or in a specific app or setting (and if so, where?)

Would be nice if attempting to launch the Store prompted you with an option to disable it, and then there was an option to enable it when quitting the Store (not just suspending it ofc as it is still actually running).

And / or including it as a default option in the power menu.

if you are using this CFW you can go to Network > *Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools > Disable Syscalls
alternatively if you are using webMAN MOD you can press R2 + triangle (at least is what says under the option disable syscalls)

Like I don't need to restart to apply, or change anything else before using the PSN Store?
Apologies, I'm very new to all of this as I've only used the PS2 Fat + FCMB before which is of course quite straightforward to disable if it was ever necessary. Don't want to get my first brand new PSN account banned somehow.

Hi, I've just got a ps3 on 3.41 I think ofw…. What jailbreak do I need to download games please?
 
Hello mates,
recently I've got a problem,
when I start GTA chinatown ( PSP ) black screen appears and freeze,
what should I do? I can play 3rd birthday fine but GTA no chance!
and another is using split app for PS2 GTA games like vice city which is more than 4GB
after mounting and starting play it says- disk reading error and freeze
who knows what should I do?

You can buy digital games on the PS3 store. It's still up and running, and digital games don't require a working disc drive.
You can also download homebrew games from Brewology.

Make sure to only install noBD CFW. If the issue is with the optical drive daughterboard, attempting to install any other firmware (OFW included) will send your PS3 into a boot loop which can only be fixed by replacing the daughterboard.

No. If the daughterboard malfunctions the drive completely ceases to work. If it reads CDs and DVDs then it's a laser issue. Do not install noBD firmware since you'll just break backwards compatibility for no reason. Use regular firmware instead; it's safe if the issue is the drive itself rather than the daughterboard.
The laser can also be fixed in most retro game store labs if you wish to repair the optical drive. It's not very expensive.
 
Olá, alguém tem alguma ideia de quando será lançada a versão alternativa do CFW 4.91, estou falando da versão noBT?

Entering in safe mode, and rebooting the PS3 makes syscalls stop working, you need to reinstall the CFW to make it work again.
Is not a big problem but it´s very annoying

This is by design. Cobra is disabled when entering safe mode. Instead of reinstalling the CFW, simply go to Custom Firmware Tools > Cobra Tools > Toggle Cobra.

So just toggle this, don't need to restart after, correct?
