4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

@aldostools does this support PS3's broken/non functioning disc drives. I keep getting failed install on the update I even tried putting a new hdd in and now I'm stuck in recovery mode / loop

Is evilnat 4.91 noBD for CEX still being worked on? I noticed it isn't among the download list.

Additionally, am I unable to play online games on the PS3 if my CFW is not on 4.91?

Thank you.

you can build one for the latest pex. select both no bd options, and then select zecoxao's lv 1 patch right below it. in fact, it even tells you how to do so in mfw builder, underneath the patch option.

edit: I forgot to mention, disable both rebuilder options as well as select the tarbell version, which will be 4.xx cex.

Do I need to shorten its file name to "PS3UPDAT.PUP" for the console to recognize it?

Yes, always name the PUP file as PS3UPDAT.PUP in order for the PS3 to recognize the file.

In case creating our own noBD files becomes the norm for future CFW updates, was I supposed to install the PEX update on my PS3 (despite always using CEX in the past) and then create the noBD CEX file within the console?

PEX is CEX with some debug features on it.

You can't create a noBD CFW from within the console. If you want to create your own CFW, you must use tools like MFW Builder, but bear in mind that you must have a hardware flasher at hand because a bad CFW could brick your console.

You have been warned.

Any particular reason why this latest CFW 4.91 did not include noBD version? Prior updates seemingly had all versions available for download in the main listing or such.

Because it's still in beta phase, and it's pointless to release each type of CFW after fixing bugs or improving the features on each beta.

My apologies. I only just realized this was still in the beta phase (that's what I get for not thoroughly reading posts and title).

Is it possible to play online with our own/beta 4.91 CFW, such as the one kindly provided by the user Charles_n_town?

I don't really know the limitations of nobd, but it should be the same as it's always been. I do know they often recommend fixing the be drive, because certain cobra features won't work otherwise. I haven't heard anything about not being able to play online though.

please help, my bluetooth headphone paired & connected to ps3 cfw successfully, output audio device already changed to bluetooth device, but still no sound from bluetooth device (audio still play through hdmi). what should i do ?

I would like to report a bug in CFW 4.91.2 beta 9. After returning from PEX to CEX, two inactive debug update options from the PEX version remain in the update menu.
