4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

4.91.2 BETA10:
+ Added Extended Download Plugin by DeViL303

It seems Extended Download Plugin in BETA10 has 2 major issues:
1-Missing custom icons used in download_list.xml (they were not included in the PUP)
2-download_plugin.sprx patched incorrectly.

Both issues are solved installing the official Extended Download Plugin 1.0 by @DeViL303

webMAN MOD now has a CFW MODs section in the online updater that includes a modded Extended Download Plugin with both fixes and 3 additional save locations: /dev_hdd0/exdata, /dev_hdd0/DVDISO, /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/theme

Hi total noob here,
I bricked my ps3 20xx series, it enter infinite loop of update, restart itself, and instantly updating (8002F14E) that cant be aborted or avoided by going to safe mode. what happened is i updated my newly bought secondhand ps3, it has cfw version 4.89 version or lower i think, and i try to update to 4.91.2 beta 10 PEX. any info on how to idk restore my ps3 to make it playable anymore?

Error 8002F14E indicates either your HDD or your BD-drive are not connected properly or have hardware issues. Better check those.

so theres no possibility of corrupt files or incompatibility? oh okay so if i can just ask someone to replace the bd or hdd, hope its not expensive :chuncky:
and sorry for asking much but i have some question, how do i check my bd drive errors without opening up the playstation, and if i cant check can i use noBD version on ps3 that idk either it has BD functioning properly or not?

I don't remember for sure, but I don't think it will harm the PS3 if you install nobd cfw, even if you have a working drive. I just don't think it installs dev_flash3, which iirc is the bd software.

That's correct. You can install noBD CFW on your console, but be careful. If your console is working (as in it boots to XMB and can load games) and your BD drive is indeed broken, if you install noBD CFW you can not install normal CFW until you fix your BD drive.

In other words, you may end up stuck in the infamous boot loop due to a broken BD drive.

sorry but if your bd is broken and you can install the noBD why would you have problems? but isn't there a way after the exploit and the hfw to disable the drive check for the fw update?

If you install noBD firmware, even on units with a working drive, it'll break backwards compatibility with both PS1 and PS2 games (even ISOs).

There's a couple lv1 patches for nobd. Afaik, we can only peek, not poke lv1, so there's no way to patch it currently.

Read my post again.

If your BD drive is broken and you install noBD CFW, you can boot to XMB and be able to use some homebrew albeit your console will be almost useless to play games (as NiQ said before).

Once in noBD CFW and without a working BD drive, you can't go back to full CFW until you fix it, as I've said before.

but isn't there a way after the exploit and the hfw to disable the drive check for the fw update?

No, you are not understanding how installing FW works on the PS3. To exploit your console you need to install HFW or patch the flash memory for CFW. In any case, you MUST install a FW.

If your console has a broken BD drive, the update process will detect it and will never skip that step during FW installation, leaving your console in a boot loop.

Also, HFW is just OFW with the vulnerable webkit injected. It's impossible to disable BD checks without the encryption keys.

Yknow what I got a better idea why don't we implement noBD/ NoBT NoWifi in the service section of xai plugin to avoid confusion about these firmwares. @Evilnat
Dunno if you agree with me but hopefully some arrangements can be made for that in CFW Tools MOD for now @aldostools
Just to get rid of the special firmwares that may risk your console that already have a tweaking implementation in regular CFW.
Actually nvm.

please help i cant login my psn account to my ps3 that i newly updated using 4.91.2 beta 9 update

you may have to disable syscalls. iirc, there's a built in feature to prevent possible bannings, if syscalls are enabled, so you're supposed to mount the game first, then disable syscalls afaik. I don't have a cfw system, so I don't really remember how to disable them.

another possibility is not using a device password, which is required on the ps3 and psv. you'll have to create one on playstation.com or whatever iirc.

If you haven't already gotten this fixed, I take mailed in consoles and repair them, or exchange them for a fully modified console. Let me know if I can be of any assistance there.
