By the way, one last request: why doesn't converting the system from CEX to DEX switch the kernel? I think it should, otherwise, it isn't fully in DEX mode, requiring an extra step for the user.

Yeah you still need to patch the fake id with your original CEX id before accessing the PSN store, it'd be better if it just patched it on the fly when loading the web browser.

Also WebManMod isn't listing all ps1, ps2, ps3 games properly, i'd also like it if it could display a icon for every ps2classic game on the xmb instead of you having to choose per disc then mount the ps2 cd/dvd icon from the xmb, it's an extra step that should be silent to the user imo if the game has already been transfered from usb to the internal hdd, you can't set the ps1 or ps2 emulator mode either.

@Evilnat maybe something can be done by having PS3 patches VIDEO_TS.IFO on the fly? I am not really sure if this method is even doable. the easiest you can do is to rip your own DVD from PC to make it region free then load it on PS3. but the guy wants it done on the fly so no ripping is necessary on his NTSC unit when watching PAL titles that are protected. Cobra doesn't bypass RCE but it can at least let you change region which I think it's kinda pointless for majority of European titles.

I don't even know if its an RCE problem. I tested with a DVD from before RCE should've been a thing, but maybe it was added in later reprints.

Edit: I just checked and seen that the target ID of my disc drive is still Hong Kong, despite me setting my console completely to Europe. Maybe thats the issue? Can the target ID of the BluRay drive even be changed?

Feature Request: FTP On Boot

Description: Start FTP when the PS3 boots

Reason: Currently I most of the times have to enable this to transfer files between my PS3 and other devices but I'd like to have it enabled on boot so I can just turn my PS3 on without going through any settings, even with no HDMI plugged in. (I know it's very simple to turn FTP on manually but this would be a very big QoL feature for me). I hope you'd consider adding this @Evilnat

I don't know about ftp on evilnat, but enable the openps3ftp plugin in your plugins file to enable ftp at boot without having to enable anything. it's what everything is based on iirc.

Just FYI:
webMAN MOD boots up on console start up and has FTP support running in BG.

iirc, the psn icon is the only icon of the main ones which isn't in the icontex.qrc (mentioned in your other post). I'm afraid I don't remember where the psn icon is located. it may be in xmb_normal_plugin.rco or system_plugin.rco. the first one is the most likely, but I don't know for sure.
 
Hello i have a japanase slim model 2500X with last version of evilnant beta 15, I can't boot any games from HDD only with ISO format. When try to launch from HDD with MultiMAN or Irisman , nothing happen and it just return to XMB.... is this a common problem?
 
Good work! Now one of my favorites Tekken 5 run extremely fast on my PS3! I hope soon will finally will run and Urban Reign with the same success. For now it cant even start. Also "FTP disable" make my console to freeze on BETA 14 CEX. Hope this info is useful.

Do you have a 120 or 144hz or higher tv? That could effect speed, so try lowering refresh rate or disabling vsync.
