4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

DİKDÖRTGEN'e birkaç saniye basın
In the previous evilnat version, when we pressed the PS button without making any combinations, we saw the results directly. I want to see it without making any combinations because the previous version was like that.

It wasn't in the previous evilnat. It was in some 4.91 Beta, kozaroff's changed this behaviour in new emu. Evilnat updated emu after this

Are we talking about ps2_netemu or ps2_gxemu or ps2_emu?

I wanted to play a PS2 game. I wanted to press the PS button and check the FPS value, but I couldn't see it there. There was no information other than cell and rsx values. It said PS2 netemu at the top left, including the combo menu.

4It was available in the final version 4.91.3, but I just learned how to open the menu by pressing the Rectangle button in 4.92.

In this case you are right. It looks like old ps2_netemu was used. I think you can mount dev_blind and update emus by webman mod manually
I checked ps2_netemu - there are temps in coreos menu

4.92 is basically a port of 4.91.2 to the new OFW. The only differences are the changes pulled from the new OFW version it's based on, i.e. renewed AACS keys and a few new CA root certificates.

Apprecaite your input as always.

In that sense, since I hadn't been as tuned in in the lead-up to 4..91.2 and 4.92, am I better off updating to 4.92 then or should I stay on 4.90 if indeed there are still issues being ironed out? I just haven't had any issues while being on 4.90 and had hoped a full build of the next CFW (4.92) would provide me with the latest FW, as well as all the other new features that have since been integrated into the CFW, all the while being as stable as I've found 4.90 to be thus far.

There have not been any major issues with 4.91.2 either. Evilnat's switched to agile development, which means that instead of a big annual update, small updates are released when a new feature is ready. If there are any issues, they are usually in that new specific feature and are fixed shortly after. The only a so-called beta can become the final version is if Evilnat decides to take a break for a while or if Sony releases a new OFW.

  1. I updated my CECHK01 from Evilnat 4.91 to 4.92, both were CEX, and now when I mount any ISO game with WebMAN MOD the game name displays in the XMB as a dash (-) and I get an error saying the disc cannot be started
  2. PS2 ISO games say "Unsupported data" and return the error message "This model PS3 is not compatible with PlayStation 2 format software"
  3. Mounting and loading games worked fine before I updated the CFW so it's not an issue with my ISO files or WebMAN MOD itself. Aldos released a new update for webMAN which I did install but the issue persisted

Is it safe to assume that this version of CFW 4.92 is finalized or do you anticipate more iterations of it will be released over the coming weeks?

If I'm not mistaken, if I were to install 4.92, it seems like I'll be able to keep everything up-to-date via the xai_plugin? Is this a built-in option of the CFW? I'm refering to Evilnat's latest tweet in which he makes mention of this feature, which I'm not very familair with. I do apologize if it's all self-explanatory, but I'm still trying to get a better handle on the inner workings of the CFW end of the system and its functionality.

Currently 4.92 is a port of the final release of 4.91.2 to the new OFW. If Evilnat decides to add new features there will be a 4.92.2, which, like 4.91.2, will likely be a series of small releases until Sony (probably) releases 4.93 next year.

@Evilnat Any way you could make the PS3 accept custom CA root certificates? I'd really like to analyze some encrypted traffic with Fiddler.

A reminder this is @Evilnat Official Support Thread for his release and his builds.

This is not a thread for your mods and edits to the releases.

There are overclocking threads and then
We even have a thread for the overclocking video that was referenced
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps3-overclock-tutorial-how-to-make-a-ps3-pro.46776/.

Those post are better in those thread then in an official thread designated by Evilnat for his own releases / builds.

Edit: will likely move them post there.
Edit2: Moved post to https://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps3-overclock-tutorial-how-to-make-a-ps3-pro.46776/

Edit 3: @Evilnat expanded your permissions and have some moderator abilities in the PS3 CFW and Jailbreak section of the site and this thread.

@Evilnat Could you maybe check that weird bug that causes burned PS1/PS2 games not to be recognized when the internal HDD has been replaced with SSD?

+20% RSX / +15% RAM Clock

OC = OverClocked 600/750 Mhz. It has 100Mhz increased to the default 500 Mhz RSX / 650 Mhz GDDR3 RAM Clock speeds.
Greatest respect sir! Thank you! :)
Guys, do you think Is it safe to install on a BC CECH04 with delidded RSX, and fairly new (2022 december, with a 100hrs playing time since, maybe less) mx4 thermal paste?
