4.93 EVILNAT (Cobra 8.5)

PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

I got my dads ps3 slim recently and installed EvilNat 4.92. I love it and want to thank you for your work. It is a blessing to go back and relive this generation when the world of gaming has become excessively expensive. I noticed my system runs hot though and i gotta repaste it. i recently heard of Undervolting and Overclocking. I know OC is an option in the cfw but will Undervolting ever be a feature? Someone on youtube said its impossible and im skeptical to believe them when we have OC and no syscon is needed. so my question is if Undervolting will ever make it to evilnat?

Overvolting/Undervolting is set on EEPROM and it's kinda risky to add an option for that.

Been a long time since I posted here... Anyway, has anyone successfully overclocked the super slim with the 28nm RSX using the badupdate method and more over, what were the stable clocks if they had? The 28nm max overclock is my current unicorn.

at some point you will probably be limited by the ram even if the rsx is o.k.

was 4.92.2 ever released?

I recently installed DEX 4.92 over the previous D-PEX it seemed to crash on a black screen during installation & be unable to select a video mode to output on my tv via hdmi, I had to restart the ps3 a few times before it'd switch over to 480p in safe mode, 4.92 is now displayed but Webman mod refuses to run & just hangs when trying to refresh the games list, entering Webman mod browser setup gives me an offline error, Cobra was also disabled after the 4.92 install I had to re-enable it.

I tried checking the FAT32 64gb usb stick for install I used on windows7 but now it's just showing up as RAW unformatted, it's corrupted the FAT32 filesystem or header not sure how to safely restore it along with the files, it's around 57GB & 600-800MB unused & chkdsk is saying it's NTFS.

Update:
Webman Mod browser setup now working after reinstalling from the XMB game tab, I guess the previous install got borked when updating the firmware an it didn't carry across, when I tried installing ultimate toolbox it said I didn't have enough space on the hdd left under 1.5GB, I deleted the previous 3 CFW pups from the updater folder an reinstalled ultimate toolbox for 4.92 everything seemingly working as it should.

Maybe there should be some warning check for hdd space left before installing a new firmware like packages?

My ps3 clock still isn't synced to the correct time either, I can't tell if the cmos battery is dead or not I know it's not been correct since I did the capacitor fix.

If you use webMAN MOD, you need to check the option Auto Fix Clock in /setup.ps3 and save the settings.

On the initial screen that ask for date/time you only need to press X.
webMAN MOD will auto-update the date/time if the current date is before 2025 and your PS3 have internet connection.

It's not updating at all, the browser just opens with fixclock.ps3 : OK, i've tried setting it as both 2023 & 2024, i've also tried updating it from the Date & Time option set via internet too, it shows as error 8071006 do I need to be signed into PSN for it to update the time from the Sony server?

Fix CBOMB from Custom Firmware Tools sets it as 10minutes too fast.

If this is using NTP protocol under the hood, it should be updated to a Linux time server IMO.

I don't use NTP protocol. I use HTTP to read the current time from this page:
http://ps3.aldostools.org/date.php

Error 0x80710006 is "Buffer space was insufficient to write into". I don't know how it is related to the bug reported.

Verify if you have access to the URL above. Also updating to the latest build 1.47.48i and use the full edition.

Oh sorry, I was suggesting this more as a CFW tweak. I'm sure the time servers the standard PS3 OS uses are Playstation's servers. Simply was suggesting it be updated to a Linux NTP server or set of servers if it's NTP protocol under the hood.

Updated to v1.47.48i, it's doing the same as the CBOMB fix ten minutes too fast, i'm on UK time GMT+00:00 London.

Does it matter if your using a non UK DNS server, related to your isp?
I swap between Amazon Cloudflare & Google DNS servers.

From Opera on my mobile it's showing up your url as
2025-05-19 13:05:48 GMT -04:00, ps3 browser showing up with error 80710101.

hi guys i have a quick question, i was using before webman mod but the thing is i noticed that it seems that there used to be a memory leak due to that when i played for more than 2 hours my games were going slower and also my ps3, then in order to me to fix that i needed to restart my ps3, but then i unninstall it and i do use multiman 4.85.1 this issue got fixed, also it gave me the same issue on multiman 4.91 maybe it was something related to exfat drivers? or anything related to a background app process or anything similar? thanks a lot and i will look foward for your response

Not sure but it used to do that to me with the ftp server & fps counter now & again, try unloading it from the plugins, the ps2 emulator already a fps counter so it's not needed for that anyway.

ControlConsole API (CCAPI) is no longer compatible also.

@aldostools
yesterday I turned on my PS3 and saw the webman is not responding I tried to turn on FPS with R3+L3 but the message ( webman unloaded ) popped up
it forced me to uninstall the webman and reinstall it.
what was the problem? it was off for about a week

CCAPI is working fine on 4.92

Must be something to do with DEX then, my previous install was v4.91 D-PEX with everything converted to DEX with the 8% HDD space fix.
I went straight to installing DEX this time around with v4.92 but it seems some installs got corrupted, I already said I had to restart the ps3 a few times to go into safe mode before it'd go into a video mode that'd output via hdmi before it came up that v4.92 had installed, the XMB CCAPI install icon states it's the latest version & can't install, I guess i'll just uninstall it & reinstall it from the .PKG again.
