Lollipop does indeed work. And found out is has another of the well documented framerate limits of UE3 games. This games limits its performance to a maximum of 58fps with the patch.

I eventually got it to work, there was extra code that made my game lock up, it is 8F890B set that address to 01, works on the US version

Yah it's 2026 and PS3 games are still getting patched :D
All patches tested and working on the real hardware.

Generally speaking they will remove the 30fps software lock coded inside the game and the framerate will be limited by your PS3 hardware:
* Expect: Screen tearing, high framerate fluctuations, instabilities, higher CPU/GPU temps, lower hardware lifespan. So use them at your own risk :) Also your millage may vary due to silicon lottery & overclock.
* Don't expect: Stable locked smooth 60fps

You can fix Brutal Legend now, it is C479F change it from 02 to 01 for 60fps, but you have to do it in the main menu then when in game hit start to bring the menu up then exit out of the menu
 
Today's update:
* Dead Space BLES00308 1.00 -> Minor character "jumps" (Potentially the same issue is present in the other two dead space games. Should be fixable, maybe someone in the community could help me on this one)
* Need for Speed Rivals BLUS31201 1.03 -> Based on the existing RPCS3 patch but updated for the version 1.03

About the Need for Speed patch, will that work on versions from others regions or the digital version? Just to see if I can use the version I have (NPEB01412)

Also, I'm trying to get R&C Nexus patch to work. I got a firmware crash using Artemis to apply the patch. Maybe I should apply the patch the way I usually do (going directly on the values).

Edit: Got the patch running and I found it curious that now this game disengages v-sync during gameplay (usually it employs triple-buffered v-sync), only keeping it enabled for cutscenes. Now I understand why Insomniac gave up on the 60fps target. The graphics they were aiming for were too much for the system to perform well.

I only tested against BLUS31201 v1.03

Usually when the game/console is loading something and I initialize Artemis at the same time it tends to crash the console. But if I wait for the game to be fully loaded in the main menu or in-game and I initialize Artemis it never crashes. In order to completely avoid Artemis crashing the console I guess the best safe option is to pre-patch the eboot.bin
 
On Condemned 2, you mention a v-sync patch applied to the eboot. Do games like F.E.A.R. 2, the Crysis trilogy or the Orange Box games can get the same kind of patch? The v-sync command on the cfg files doesn't work in any of these games I mentioned.

Crysis 2 and 3 all you need to do is dump the disc to the hard drive and use the notepad and edit the config file inside.

Condemned 2 needs both (config edit + cheat code). I lost my notes with the cheat code for this one :( so I'll have to revisit this one.

Orange box there is already patches from RPCS3. I only tested the Half-life one.

About the Crysis sys_maxfps command, it just changes the framerate target and the two v-sync commands I know don't work (I tested the commands on both PS3 and 360). From my experience, any value above 60 just doesn't work, 60fps is the maximum value the console will recognize. These Crysis games are triple-buffered on the PS3 so they will never tear.
On the Orange Box games, the games are always double buffered, with or without the patch. With the patch, you only get 60fps when the engine has enough resources to jump the 30fps step. So my question yesterday was related to a way to directly disable the v-sync. :smile new:

Edit: Tested Dead Space, the game runs surprisingly well though it stutters heavily in some scenes. This game will benefit a lot from the overclock.
