I want to be as clean of a gamer as I can possibly be. I don't download ROMs anymore, I dump all of them from my own cartridges. Same thing goes for PS ISOs, PSP UMDs, and Gamecube/Wii ISOs. The big problem (right now) is obtaining DLC for my legally-dumped PS3 games (and legally-dumped PS4 games in the near future).
Mortal Kombat's one of my favorite games ever and fighting games are my go-to genre of gaming. I mainly play MK1 + MK2 + UMK3 via SNES ROMs (each ROM lightly hacked to be a tad closer to arcade. Example, blood in MK1 instead of sweat). I had to download the actual arcade versions of the games because I wanna be able to play those games online and compete in tournaments for them. My justification for it is that I bought and own two MK Arcade1UP machines (a normal one and a countercade). I also bought and legally own MK Arcade Kollection for all three systems it was made for (PS3, 360, PC). Since both my PS3s are modded and I don't wanna do anything to screw them up, I had to re-download the PS3 version from an unofficial source along with the RAP to unlock it. My justification for it is that, once again, I legally own the game for all three systems.
Sooner or later I'm gonna wanna delve into more fighting games, and I'd like to have every character and stage available in those games from the start. A game like SoulCalibur IV is no issue because I just download a complete save file for it, run it through Apollo Save Tool, and boom! Everything unlocked and nothing to worry about. But then there are games like Street Fighter X Tekken where you have to pay money in order to unlock the entire roster. Again, I had to download the characters from an unofficial source. And after taking a look at Street Fighter V and Tekken 7, I'm probably gonna have to do it more and more. My justification for it is that I legally own the games and dumped them from my own discs.
I ask you now before I continue to go down this road: Am I doing the right thing going by what I just explained? Or do I need to delete all that stuff in order to be safe and stay out of trouble?
