A few questions regarding HEN v2

Ok so I just got this installed, and I have a few questions I'd like to ask before I go ahead and attempt installing any homebrew or messing with anything in general and potentially ruining my system.

- First. After I enable HEN, when I go to try opening "* /app_home/PS3_GAME/" I get an 80028F14 Error. Why is that? HEN appears to enable after I enable it since the games I have installed will launch without error.

- What is the best file manager or whatever for mounting ps3 game folders? I was planning on using multiman or irisman. Also, does anyone have a link to the versions of these that work best with HEN?

- Does FTP work with multiman / iris?

- What exactly needs to be done to mount a ps3 game folder and play it? I.E. whats with all this "enable cobra / bdmirror" etc stuff? Is it necessary to enable and by doing so do you risk screwing up your system if something goes wrong? Or can you just simply install your file manager, FTP the game you want, and just play it?

Any help would be appreciated. Eager to play some dated games I haven't touched in years!

Update. I'm getting an error when trying to launch "Irisman" using the latest version available on github.

"Syscall is very old or not detected Do you want to REBOOT the PS3? (Select NO to exit to XMB)"

• 1- it is normal cause there i no game mounted yet to launch from ,from old days we use app_home to launch game but after cobra gets along with a CFW no need to use app_home just launch game from Disc Icon
• 2- multiMan,IrisMan Hentai Version,ManaGunZ,webMan Mod
• 3- yes ftp works and you can have ftp while in game or in xmb using webMan cause ftp_server work in background not like gamemanager you need to have them opened
• put your self on chosen game click triangle then go to 5th option set it to COBRA so it will be Payload <COBRA> and set 7th option 'BD Emulation' to BDMIRROR
• its just simple use ftp to transfer your games from pc to ps3 /dev_hdd0/GAMES/

Thank you thank you, I'll try that out. Currently trying to FTP elder scrolls oblivion with multiman. Once it completes, I'm gonna try to launch it and if it doesn't work I'll go back to irisman. Also, to delete the version of irisman that I already installed, I just highlight it press triangle and select "delete" right?

Where are the cobra and bd emulation options located in multiman lol?

I would suggest ripping your games to ISO as it has a higher compatibility and no need to tweak any settings. multiMAN works great in mMCM mode now that we have PS3 ISO support.

webMAN also works great and it's easier to use NTFS support with webMAN using prepNTFS but MANAGUNZ and IRISMAN work best as a game and file manager for NTFS support.

multiMAN takes a bit of work getting and adding your VID/PID for JB folder and file manager support but works great for ISO support without any tweaking since we have Cobra support now.

One last question. Would it be possible to format a FAT32 USB stick to NTFS and just copy the games to the USB stick and transfer them with multiman that way? Making it so one does not have to use FTP?

Will it delete installed games and game saves on my HDD?

What is the difference between HAN and HEX in regards to running and installing games and what is easier to use?

Yes but you either need to use prepNTFS for the drive or simply when converting your games would could use the split ISO function so FAT32 can be used as NTFS is not supported for PKG installs. Or you can just use multiMAN to convert JB folders to ISO this way nothing needs to be done PC side. But use IRISMAN or MANAGUNZ if your going the NTFS USB route as it doesn't need extra configuration to use NTFS. But I use and suggest FAT32 as it works for everything PS3.

you can but for NTFS support IrisMan and ManaGunZ are more compatible then multiMan and no need for USB.CFG

Alright thank you! I'm going to try out both irisman and managunz soon, will try the NTFS USB route since I have a few spares. One of em' is 32gb so I'd like to use it in place of an external HDD since I don't have one currently.

You have to update from HAN 4.82 to HFW 4.84.2 first. I did this by downloading the HFW and following the instructions to put it on USB. Then Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media. I ran into a copy error at first because I had a USB controller plugged in. Solved it by unplugging that controller and just using a BT one.

After updating, I went to **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) and set the Han Installer page as my home page. Closed the browser. Opened it again and Initialized Han, Installed Han (with the USB containing hansupportfiles plugged into the rightmost slot) ps3 rebooted. Deleted my old han toolbox on the game tab under game data. Enabled han from **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) one last time, installed the new han toolbox and bam was done updating to the HFW.

In terms of upgrading to HEN. I followed the instructions on the most recent v2 update, and bam that was done too.

No it wont delete any of your installed games or saves. They will all still work as usual. Use enable HEN to use your homebrew (preferrably not while signed into PSN.) and just use enable HAN in the HAN toolbox to use the content you already had and sign into PSN etc. That's what I've been doing anyways.
