Hello. This is an old account I haven't logged for years.
I read the mentioned thread and wanted to contribute testing with a SD I own.
Games: GoW (USA ripped to reduce size under 4GB, using ISO file) , GoW 2 (also), Burnout 3 takedown (USA unmodded ISO).
SD: Sandisk Class 4 16GB.
Device: PS2 Slim 70001
Mx4SIO: BitFunX
Results: gameplay and FMVs are fine for all them, GoW and GoW2 loading is ok, Burnout 3 Takedown loading time seems normal like USB speed (old and slow SD card).
