Activating PSN Games currently. How?

hey guys, im new here, hope this is this right place to post this.

so i just got a used cech-2504b which was luckily still on 4.70. i did upgrade it to 4.87 and then did the jailbreak. right now it's running evilnats latest custom firmware.
sadly all the games i got are .PKG + .RAP so i need to activate my system to make them work.

could i go on OFW 4.88, activate my system with a PSN account and then go back to evilnats CFW 4.87? is my jailbreak gone then? would i still get ban like this?
is there anything i can do but wait for the newer CFW 4.88 version? cause i have read that it's possible that even if there is a newer version, PSN activation still couldn't work, cause sony changed some stuff.

Yes you can activate on OFW 4.88 but right now there is no 4.88 CFW so you will need to wait to get back to CFW.

If you install OFW, you automatically lose jailbreak however you can easily reacquire jailbreak using the PS3 Toolset's Flash Memory Manager tool (available at ** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset).
Currently the PS3 Toolset supports OFW 4.80 to 4.87 included.
A Toolset update to add OFW 4.88 support will be pushed after Evilnat's 4.88 CFW is released.

i thought that maybe, since the jailbreak is on the flash memory, it won't get touched even with an newer official firmware and so i still could go back on any CFW version i want. even on 4.88, as long as i did a jailbreak before going on 4.88.
i did use your tool to jailbreak my ps3 and it's just awesome. not only that it works perfectly, even people like me can use it. thanks.

so i guess i will have to wait then, until evilnat and you are finished with your work. no problem then, i just thought maybe there is a way to make it work right now.

Every firmware installation via PUP on a slim ps3 deploys a new CoreOS package (lv0/lv1/lv2 kernel + the SPU loaders + low level system self files) in the Flash memory & replaces VSH + its modules as well as all accompanying userland files on HDD.
As the jailbreak resides in CoreOS & CoreOS is replaced, you automatically lose jailbreak if you install an unpatched CoreOS like those found in OFW.
