I seen a article from 2010 Sony unlocked a additional 70mb of ram on ps3

Was this done automatically with there update back then ?

If not how would I unlock this option on ps3 ?

I'm currently on hfw 4.88.1 with hen
3.0.3 if that helps

And while I'm here can I overclock the PS3 CPU and rsx anyway?

If I'm correct, on PS3, vsh and game sharing the same space of RAM, so maybe they just reduced size occupied by OS in background?

For what reason You want overclocking CPU/GPU? Especially on a consoles which have problems in heat dispersing. ;p

Oh ok thanks for the info

Wanted to make graphics abit more clearer and more fps
Also the console seems to be more laggy than it use to be it's a superslim model

I have a super slim too.
first of all, you can't overclock an SS as they are not CFW compatible.
about being slow, try some of these things:

1-Check the free space of the HDD, I recommend that you always leave something around 10% to 15% of the raw value of the HDD free.
2- restore the file system.
3- recreate his database.
4- format the HDD, do a quick format by the system itself, if it doesn't improve, you can format it by the computer (FAT32), but you will have to reinstall the system later, check if the disc player and bluetooth are working before doing this.
5-updating the system again or removing the unlock (if any) is something to think about
If none of that works, probably the HDD is defective, replace it with another one, if possible test with an SSD to make sure the problem is in the HDD and not in the device.

You may also have a heating problem, but I don't know if this limits the console's speed when in temperatures of a maximum of 80 degrees Celsius, I don't know if it works as a computer in that sense...

I nominate you to test what I showed you in order, you don't have to do them all, stop when you decide or if you want to format the system directly without trying the other steps, better that way, you'll waste less time, that's at your discretion.
