PS4 Annoying coil whine!

Has anyone experienced coil whine coming from the PSU on the first generation fat ps4? The first model I bought at launch had this and it irritated me to no end. So I had to keep unplugging the unit from the power each night, it eventually got so bad that I traded it for a slim and the problem ceased.

Since the 9.0 JB was a thing, I purchased another fat launch model and it's been fit for purpose and working well, however the coil whine is present again! Are all these units prone to this or can I swap a different model PSU into the console to stop this?

I have fat PS4 PRO and no clue what you speak of.

I also had an original phat white PS4 but never experienced any whining sounds?

Perhaps a video would better demonstrate the noise that you are speaking of

Otherwise, PS4's run as loud as most personal computers, if not louder on certain games or equivalent to a PC game that maxes out your resources.

Not as loud as an actual fan that's used for cooling but almost at least half as loud

I have Fat and Slim, works both ~3000h and none ever has such annoying problem as coil whining. None of my friends either. And this is main reason why I still not want PS5, because it is often problem there and I hate this sound. ^^

More of a high pitched squeal kind of noise and its not always from a coil, sometimes its the polypropylene capacitors, essentially at a specific frequency the PSU operates at the inductor or capacitor vibrates and causes this high pitched whine / squeal that some people can pick up on, but not all, depends on your hearing.

As for how to fix it, if a newer model PSU will fit (don't think they do, but could be wrong), then that MIGHT help, but if not, then not much you can do other than live with it.
