I was extracting a PSP game ISO that i have ripped because i was curious(..i think that's legal, right?) and i encountered a file named "DATA.BP". No, it's not .PBP or anything else, it actually was .BP. i searched everywhere, couldn't find info regarding it..

But i want to see what's inside it! (As long as that's legal, that is) anyone know a way to extract it? or is it like an .ELF, where it's compiled and is really hard to do?:concern:

It is legal, of course. At least in USA and Europe. ;] Not sure about specifically Japan.

Extensions have zero meaning, it is just part of filename. And in most cases, archives formats for resources are unique per game.

You're welcome.

For many games, so called extractor/rebuilders are made, mainly for ripping purpose. There are dedicated applications for specific games, there are also dedicated applications for extracting custom archives which supporting some scripting language. Which game you have in mind; maybe tool for it already exist?
