Yes it must have been something along those lines, changing the directory contents by adding a link probably messed with the cellFsGetDirectoryEntries call outcome in the while loop. For some reason the original code was not working, but it was different than the current. I didn't confirm the infinite loop, but it could be a cause. That's why I added the break.
I think the cellFsGetDirectoryEntries was restarting when the link was created, causing the infinite loop.
you are everywhereI know it's not uncommon, but I'm still surprised when I find videos about my tools

According to Jason's feedback & the couple of ss he showed me at the time, the infinite loop itself was obvious in the debug build due to the repeat entries in the socat output.
It's not compatible with reactpsn but I'll report it to act.dat. Let's try JUJU will it work reactpsn is not compatible with hfwI have simplified the "restore act.dat" patch and it's working properly now; the feedback from users/testers is positive and all weird issues went away. I submitted a PR with the patch here: https://github.com/PS3Xploit/PS3HEN/pull/39
btw, I built alternative binaries if more users want to test out and share feedback:

run webman no problem juju is running How to copy act.dat action without webman?
I downloaded, rewrote and copied, but it doesn't work. Where am I going wrong? When we say two files, do we need to copy 2 files?if you don't want to use webman mod, the only other option to restore act.dat on HEN is to use the custom PS3HEN binary that I built with the copy patch: https://www.mediafire.com/file/xv74yfiyo3sgczx/PS3HEN_BIN-restore-act.zip/file
or you can copy the file manually after HEN boots using FTP or a file manager.
