Artemis PS1 and PSP codes.

Hi guys!

I'm looking to have some cheating fun with older games, however there's no codes for PSP and or PS1 games (actually for PS1 there's one game, more on that later).

In PS1/2 times I remember that there were several cheating devices.
And I remember that the codes weren't cross compatible.

In the PS2 I remember having a cheat device (actually I think that's the actual name of it) that uses a kind of code denominated RAW or something (if anyone can, correct me on that), and apparently there were a way to convert code breaker, game shark, action replay max, etc, codes to use on this cheat device.

So, basically, I'm looking for a way (if possible) to convert PS1 codes to use in Artemis (if it needs conversion, idk if Artemis can interpret game shark codes out of the box).
Another concer is that I need to open the xmb and press start for Artemis to "attach and wirte" the codes, but in PS1 games the xmb doesn't open at all.
How should I proceed to attach the codes once I do have them?

About PSP, do I also need to convert the codes?
Would CWCheat codes work out of the box in Artemis?
Xmb opens alright on PSP emulators, so I don't think there's gonna be any problem.

So TL;DR:

I need:
To convert GameShark(PS1) codes to Artemis or find codes already made for Artemis and PS1 games.
A way to attach Artemis to PS1 games.
To convert CWCheat codes or find codes for PSP games.

Alternatively, a cheating device that works on ps3hen and support the above.

Thanks to you all!

You can use a GameShark for PS1 games but involves doing a swap trick. What I do is use trainers and patch the game before I play them. As for the PSP not really as not enough of the firmware is emulated.

So for PS1 the only way is to pre patch the game and or swap GameShark disk.
GameShark swap would work for PSN titles?

As for PSP, there's absolutely no way to port the codes from CWCheat to work over Artemis?

afaik like mentioned by others the only way to use cheats on ps1_netemu (the emu used for PS1 Classics from PSN) is with pre patched images if you create your own PS1 Classic, while ps1_emu accepts also accepts pre-loaded GameShark cheats from a GameShark image. So the answer is no if you're talking about PS1 PKG's purchased from PSN.

The emulators used for these are closed source I'm afraid so we can't really do anything with the emulators themselves. The PS1 can only be done via discs or disc images it doesn't work for PSN PKG style games, official or user made.

As for the PSP I'm afraid there isn't as there isn't trainers like this as we had stuff like CW Cheat and only roughly 30-35% of the PSP's flash0 (the PSP's firmware) is emulated. This is why game support is so poor to being with as Sony only officially supported PSP Mini's in the US/EU region and super limited support in Japan outside of that. Less then five games that were not Mini's were supported.

Again since it's closed source we can't really add to it. Mysis had a PSPEMU debugger some years back but never released it publicly and I'm afraid that was our best shot at seeing increased compatibility.

Unfortunately this is the downfalls of Sony's closed source emulation but it's better then the open source's limitations due to the screwy CellOS having a 64bit architecture with 32bit pointers for the GameOS dynarec. Maybe one day the Linux support with 3D drivers will get released.

This will make PSP and PS1 emulation wit this type of potential possible for CFW users. HEN I'm afraid is still outta luck. Not unless some miracle happens and a lvl1 exploit happens somehow. Hey weirder things have happened. We got HEN out of the middle of nowhere when everybody said that the PS3 scene had reached it's Max and the unhackable models will just have to stay that way.

Hmm
That could work nicely.
What would I need to do to transport PS3 to epsxe to PS3?

Just FTP whichever PSX virtual memory card you want to mod on your PS3 to your PC. Then rename the ".VM1" extension to ".MCR / .MCD" and load it up with ePSXe or PCSXR. I've been doing this for TR1 & 2 to add some gameshark codes to my saves with PCSXR. (really needed infinite health packs, I've never beat any of the originals in my life and I'm on a mission.)

When you're done doing whatever you need in ePSXe rename the extension back to .VM1 and FTP it back over to your PS3 (might be smart to keep a backup of the virtual memory card just in case.)

This is how I cheat with PS1 is in particular, connect over hotspot or lan browse to the IP for the webman page, load GameShark enable codes, start the game itl say switch disc don't press x yet, browse PS1 games clck to load it, it will error, click the bottom link and it should hotswap your PS1 disc, then back in game press x to load.. bottom link I speak of is at the error screen on the web browser ur using remotely, it says something along the lines of unmount an mount this link to pay iso ur using click that it will change the disc I've done it many times. I'm on 4.82.2 rebug webman is most recent update.

PS3 webMAN mod web page to load your PS1 game. Going to the IP address the PS3 currently has. So mine is 172.168.1.17 for example, its always static and never changes.

(You can't eject virtual games using the VSH menu which really grinds me... like the PSP it would have changed the speed process... sometimes it goes horribly wrong and you have to do the whole process over again multiple times, especially for Final Fantasy 7, the game just dies at certain points...)

Yeah the thing is that thus far I haven't found a GS that booted on HEN, idk if it's a hen limitation or something.

I remember testing a GameShark, an ActionReplay and a Xploder disc on a ps3 HEN without issues. You just need to swap the PS1 disc afterwards.
In case you're doing it through ISO images, using webman mod webpage allows you to do the swap.

Yeah but I haven't found that particular image yet, I've tested like 3 or 4 GS images and none booted.

What's the name and version you tried?

we cant help you find images because of the rules. i will tell you that i used bin files with webman for ps1 (instead of iso) and never had one that didnt work. if you find a disc, try ripping to bin instead.
