PS3 auto boot into OtherOS?

I'm running the lastest rebug CFW (4.84.2) and I'm using the rebug toolbox to boot into OtherOS.

Lately, I've been finding myself needing to reboot quite often to try a new kernel and test my patches, but the process is very tedious since rebooting from linux sends me back to the xmb where I have to launch the toolbox again.
Is there a way to boot directly into OtherOS? I can always launch GameOS from petitboot, if I want to play games.
With a 3.55 CFW, rebooting linux sent me back to petitboot and not GameOS. How can I get this behavior back?

I would love this feature as well. The only way I have found to go straight to petitboot is to hold the power button down till I get the second beep. Do you have a repo posted for the kernel patches you are working on? I have been using the patches from the t2sde svn. It seems flaky about which kernel sources I can patch them against, and even more flaky about which of those patched sources will build.

Not exactly what you wanted, but if you install this pkg (see attachment) it give you an icon in the game category for booting into OtherOS.

If you want to go a step further, you can install my Advanced Power Options Mod (APO), that will give you a menu in the user category with various options and that includes the option to boot OtherOS.

Note: The attached package is a standalone app that installs to game, if you install the APO mod then you will find a new optional pkg inside package manager > install > system storage. This one will install to the APO menu, its called Boot_into_otherOS_v1.00.pkg.

Note 2: The Advanced Power options mod is universally compatible with CFW and HEN, but the Boot OtherOS optional add on is only for CFW. HEN is not capable of running OtherOS.

I took the T2 patches and rebased them against the latest kernel (5.2.9). There's a recently introduced bug that makes the kernel hang at boot, but there's a workaround with the config. Send me a PM for all the info.

Thanks! It does make things faster since I don't have to navigate the toolbox menus anymore.

Hey, you're using T2 distro on PS3? Or just used the patches from T2? Which distro are you using rn? Because Red Ribbon is very slow

I have understood that it uses a custom package manager right? Any guide for installing it?
The easiest way to install it is with the iso. The installer is pretty straightforward, so it should be pretty easy. There's a guide here: http://t2sde.org/documentation/installintro.html I don't know how up to date it is.

I had a couple of problems with the old iso from last year so I ended up building my own T2 target for ppc64 following this: http://t2sde.org/documentation/buildintro.html
