Average temp of ps3 super slim

ylod means shutdown itself after 5 seconds
am I right?

No, not really. YLOD means when your PS3 console (mostly on fat and slim models) are showing yellow led which is both red and blue led lights up at the same time, resulting failure to boot indefinitely.

Both CELL and RSX chips are the main culprit.

Well i didn't have problems with the S Model that i had, solid console, one little annoyances i find with the XBOX360 its the bloody PC Disk Drive which jammes due to the belt inside being aged and loose, i wish they had gone the Sonys route, and making it like the Phat PlayStation2 all mechanical parts, would improve reliability a lot.

HDD Encryption also its a annoyance, and if you are not an expert in making a X360 HDD from scratch, you will have a hard time replacing or upgrading the HDD, and if you had a 4Gb model like i had oh dear [emoji1787]

But my preferred model its the original one, i am trying to get my hands on a Red Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition X360 Elite, but seeing that they are prone to RROD, i am not the lad to waste money, just because of looks over functionality, but ive heard that some boards of the Original X360 doesn't have the RROD issue, i think these boards are the 65nm Jasper or Falcon, i can't quite recall it [emoji848]

the first model systems (the xenon) are the ultimate pos. I'd be surprised if any of them still run. my first was that model. I flashed the drive, and I only played a few games on it before it rrod. I have two falcon jtags and a flashed jasper, but I don't ever play them.

btw, overheating on the 360 is 2 red lights, but it often doesn't do that before rrod.

Yes,ive heard of that! Nowdays finding a brand spanking new Xenon Motherboard its like finding water in the desert, they are rare and scarce, but nobody would buy a Xenon X360 unless you are a serious collector or perhaps modder, but even modders go to the newest revisions like Jasper or Falcon, not to mention Corona and Trinity can be RGH´d, i know Corona can,but Trinity (what are the odds).

RROD like you mentioned isnt always releated to overheating, ive seen X360s RRODs by other issues, and its described in the Owners Manual, but unlike the PS3, various RROD combinations can help to detect the source of the problem, which its a good thing, but from my perspective, not to bash the X360,but in terms of quality and reliability, i think Sony´s machine wins by a long stretch, but the 7th Gen was always known with reliability issues.

there's actually a secondary code based on iirc the flashing quadrants if you get rrod, so that you can narrow down the problem. there's a list somewhere. my rol is white, and it's monochromatic, so it will flash white if it has rrod.

What's your room temperature? Where do you live?

When my room temperature is 21c, my fat PS3 (IHS not removed) idles at 60c CPU and 54C GPU (33% fan speed).

Now i am enjoying sunny days. Outside Temps are 44C and room temp is 30C. Now PS3 is idling at 66C CPU and 62C GPU (37%fan speed). Next week, weather forecast says, Temps will be 46C. Some parts of this country go upto 50C in summers. Gotta love this country.

Bottom line, Everything depends on room temperature.

I live in Barcelona (Spain) very near to the beach, we have hot days here at summer and the 95% of humidity makes a bigger sensation of heat, my room is normally 21-25ºC but in summer time easily gets 30's. Now we are starting to have hotty days. I opened my PS3 because the fan was a bit loud with 5 min since turn on (i counted about 3 speed gears up) and i found that heatsinks and fan were filled with dust forming solid "walls", the heatsinks had a dust solid wall of almost 0.5cm wide that made the hot air unable to go out. 8 years of dust and smoking in the room created that shit.

Modded...Noice, always wanted to Mod a console, although cosmetic wise i prefer PCs :D

it's using a black system shell, so it's easy to see. the center light is purple. my other jtag has a blue rol, but it's using the normal white shell, so since it's light blue, it can be hard to see. I installed some custom fans in the xenon, but that wasn't enough to prevent rrod.

I see, so not even extra-fans can keep a Xenon board alive, well the quality of the chips was terrible indeed, but that doesnt make it a bad console to be honest :)

I actually want to get one more for the Backwards Compatibility and XBOX360 Exclusives, although i can also use the 60Gb for PS2 Backwards Compatibility, but this year my goals are to get a 360, and hopefully a CECHA01 or B01 PS3, which will be a pain in the @rse to get it imported to Europe, without paying a hefty price for the Unit and shipping as well, but hey makes part of the collecting fun  :D

Mine's below 65 degrees at all time with 35% fan speed
How is that possible mine the same as the other guys/gals

Bro, you live in a paradise. The weather you have in Barcelona is great. Actually perfect spot for a vacation. People think they are living in hot place but don't actually are. See our Temps in India and compare to your place. Spanish summer is like Indian winters.

South East Asia, Latin America, Brazil etc are the worst places to upkeep a consoles or electronics in general. These are extremely hot places. And also have big pollution problem. Pollution means dust. These places weather actually kill humans, so electronics don't stand much luck.

Try to get a thermometer to find out your accurate room temperature. I get room temperature in 30s when my OUTSIDE temperature is 45C. Something you will never see in Barcelona.

People who really want backward compatibility with PS2, why don't they buy PS2? I mean, PS2s are sold dirt cheap on ebay and similar places. A lot of these consoles are already modded.

Regarding 360, i would advice buying later models and revisions. Earlier models are just crap as you well know. If you already own a later model, then no need in buying first models (unless you are a collector). By the way, if you are a collector, you should consider Wii earlier models (used ones are sold at throwaway prices) which are also hackable and more durable than 360s.

Even for a collector, it only makes sense to collect things that actually work. I doubt that you can keep old xbox360s in working condition.
