PS4 Backing up game gets stuck everytime

Hi! Thanks for reading.

I'm trying to make a backup of my copy of Bloodborne. I'm using a japanese ps4 pro, and my game is also the japanese version CUSA00299, with the newest game update.

I always gets stuck on one particular file 27% in. I have tried multiple different versions of Itemzflow on different target drives and disks. I tried different FTP hosts and different FTP clients on different computers running different OS.

The file is //dvdroot_ps4/map/m25/gi_env_m25.tpfbdt

I waited for hours, just to make sure it was really stuck. When starting the process, the disc spins normally, but when it hits that file, the disc drive makes a noise before continuing to spin normally again, and eventually stopping.

My local game store was filing down bluray-discs for free the other week, and I took my game there. They said it had a scratch on it, and they filed it down. The problem still persists, and now the disc is paper thin.

What could be the problem? I played the game without jaibreak until the first boss, and everything was fine.
 
If it has multiple languages, not just Japanese, then it will only copy over files for that one language. Your system menu reflects which language is installed. Try changing the language. btw, I owned a Japanese ps4 as well, but I changed the system menu to English. when I dumped my bloodborne disc, it was the American version. I'm not sure I would've had problems if it was still in Japanese.

That's probably why I had no problems dumping my games. I live in the US, but I wanted a certain limited edition console that was only released in Japan, so I bought it. I changed the language to English, and all the games I bought were USA, so it was fine.

As for Bloodborne, I was able to dump game and patch for that 60fps mod, where you decrypt the eboot and run it through a patcher. Btw, it's not necessary to reencrypt as fself. It will be encrypted when building the package iirc. Anyway, it's possible the Japanese version also contains English. What I don't know is if you're supposed to change the console language as it's dumping. This is what I've heard from LM, if the dumper gets stuck on a file.
 
Hi! Sorry it took me two weeks to try this!

I tried english and japanese system languages in addition to my native language, everytime the dump got stuck.

How would I change the language as the game is dumping? should I start with japanese and go to english or the other way around? And should I change it before it gets stuck or after?

I'm asking, because my jailbreak isn't very stable, and sometimes crashes when I go to the ps4 home menu while itemzflow is running. It can take a lot of time to try it all, but if that's what it takes, I will!

I didn't check if that was pkg-zone as I got the link from the eta-hen GitHub. I probably should've checked itemzflow. I was in the PS4 scene long ago, before itemzflow existed. I'm friends with LM though. He even showed me itemzflow before it was released, asking me what I thought of it. I'm no longer on pkg-zone, because I retired from the scene sites and discord servers after I sold my hacked systems. I'm still interested, just not as much as I used to be, and I didn't think I could help much without being able to test things. LM is great though. He's always willing to help people on his server. Several other high profile people are on there including al azif and echo stretch. I'm not really sure what's going on with your game, but LM has helped others with itemzflow stopping a dump. That's how I knew other languages could have that effect. Good luck. Report back if you solve it.
