PS4 Best file management option for Ps4 at the moment?

So I noticed there are a few file management options. Looks like you can FTP as well if I understand this correctly. Trying to get Retroarch all setup, ideally with my ROMS on my internal HDD.

Am I right in thinking FTP is going to be the best way to transfer a fairly large drop of ROMS?

I'm looking to get retroarch running in the future as well, but I feel it's still too soon. At the moment I'm just enjoying PS4 and PS2 games on the system.

I'm also curious about a functional multi man or something of that nature.

Yea I ended up dabbling with putting retroarch on mine. Seems Ps4 Xplorer is the go to for on console file management. Seemed to work pretty well. I tested a few roms in retroarch and honestly I was kinda disappointed by the performance compared to what we already have on the ps3. I ended up deleting it for now. I'll probably give it some time myself before trying to set it back up. I think I wanna try a few saturn games though with the homebrew tool that was just released recently for making saturn fpkg's.

It depends on if your wired or wireless if FTP is a good option or not. Also depends on the file size on the things your trying to move. I move small files and ftp is familiar to me so its what ive been using. If your using an ethernet to connect to ftp its a good option for most everything. If you using wireless it takes painfully long to transfer larger files. I haven't even touch Ps4 Xplorer myself.

looks like I'll give ps4xplorer a go. I'm not surprised with what you found about the stability of retroarch on PS4. This is precisely why I want to hold off until the scene gets more attention. I know somewhere down the track, the PS4 will be a much better emulation machine than the ps3 but now is too early.

I also want to dabble with the Saturn games but want to know, is any additional tools required to be installed on the PS4 in order to get the Saturn games working or just the pc conversion tool is needed? What of the controls as well? How can they be customised since it's a totally different platform?

I'm unsure. I haven't tested it yet...

So with the Saturn games I can help. It is based off the excellent SSF emulator. Games using the 4mb cart can't save yet and it uses a single ini file. The dev behind it is going to release a new version adding per game ini suppport for higher compatibility. That he ng said this is only the first release and the Switch using the same emulator from the same game has come a long way. So it's good now but will get better with age likeost things.

Edit

Also I have tried rom hacks with this and they work great. Have been playing the English translation of Dracula X aka Symphony of the Night. It's amazing
