Best way to transfer my PS3's data to a new, larger disk?

I have a PS3 PHAT running the latest version of Evilnat. Its a 60GB model, and I only have about 4GB left. I recently switched my laptops hard drive to an SSD, and now have a 2TB drive that I would like to put in my PS3. I have some tools at my disposal, (USB to SATA connector, 128GB USB) and i've been looking at tutorials, but some encourage the use of PC based software, while others say it can be done with the PS3's own backup software, if anyone could point me in the right direction with this I would greatly appreciate it.

Yeah, this post had me worried for a bit, but I checked the drive and turns out I was in the wrong, its only 1TB.
