PS3 BIG problem - all apps and games boot to black screen

So suddenly all my apps boot to black screen - i tried database rebuild to fix it but nothing - now i cant even re-install webmanmod because the installer just boots to black screen - does anyone have any idea on how to proceed? im totally screwed

Also suddenly putting a CD in system makes the XMB supersuper laggy

if i wait long enough the black screen comes back to xmb and gives error code 80010510 - some sources suggest just re-plugging the bd drive - does anyone have any tips/experience with this error code?

Tha black sreen on any app when you launch it means that the BD drive is not detected. You can plug and unplug it but i doubt it will help. The bad daughterboard is a normal thing. so you need to change either the whole drive or just the daughterboard. either way you need to remary the new drive or daughterboard and this can be done only on jailbroken console not HEN.

Can I steal the BD drive and/or daughterboard from PS3Slim if I'm trying to fix a bc-fat-PS3? Also, is there any method on figuring out is there problem in the daughterboard or in the BD drive? Or should just replace both while I'm at it?

for testing you can just change the whole drive without remariyng. only slim 20xx has daughter boards on bd drive and they are diferent from fat. Also be aware fat also have two types of drives PATA and SATA and totaly diferent connector

Okay I will try first changing the BD-drive from slim to fat! Sorry for my noobness, but what should i consider in relation to pata/sata and their connectors?

Pata and sata are totaly diferent protocols and also connectors not interchangeable. 20xx model, the first slimonly have daughterbord. Later slims does not have daughterboard.
