PS3 Bricked PS3 CECH-2501A during CFW, need guidance on flasher

Hi everyone, I tried updating a CECH-2501A this morning to CFW, and unbelievably, the power flicker just as the process started. Now the system powers up for a second and shuts off, so I'm understanding it's likely bricked.

I know there are methods to 'unbrick' using an E3 Flasher, Teensy++ 2.0 etc. My question is, have there been any advancements in the ability to use other hardware to flash? I have a Pi Pico, lots of Arduino stuff, a TL866II and also a JR Programmer, just no Teensy or E3. Is there any way to use anything I've got, or do I need to go and purchase yet another flashing device?

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Thanks. I checked the Wiki and all of the suggested sources for purchasing in North America / Canada, and it doesn't look like any are available. The first link has accessories for the flasher but not the flasher itself, the second link doesn't resolve for me and the third one looks likes it's been seized. If the E3 is the way to go and someone knows where I can get one delivered to Canada please let me know.

Your statement isn't 100% accurate as Teensy caused a few people to screw up their motherboard. E3 is just easier because it doesn't require soldering. I only recommend Teensy if like @RetroRevival has the soldering skills and knows the points of where teensy goes in that model which you may never know if they screw it up.

we used to call it the E3 bricker for a reason, more people had bricked using the E3 then a teensy but if you can't solder then that is your only option, personally yearsago I taught myself to solder just to use teensy for downgrading
 
I've never had a problem with an E3 or any flasher.
As long as you make sure you get a good dump before moving on to flashing then take another dump after flashing to be sure it is the same as what you were trying to flash you're pretty safe. I'm not a big fan of the clips but if you take your time & ask for help if you have any questions you should be okay.
 
I'm not afraid to solder, but the E3 is already on it's way so I'll try my luck with the clips and move to the Teensy if needed. I'm guessing it needs to be a Teensy++ 2.0 and no one has used a newer Teensy version?

One other question I had is about the Tristate point, which I believe some people saying it needs to be soldered to the SBE point on the E3 ribbon, and it looks like others are just jumping the tristate to (I believe) ground right on the board. In the case of the slim, can someone tell me which is the right way?

I've also now hooked my bench systems into a UPS so I don't expect a repeat of the bricking that precipitated all of this...

I got a ps3 slim model no. cech-2504b from someone to fix i dont know what the person did but he said it had cfw on it version 3.55 not sure which cfw it keeps on showing this message saying.

A serious error has occurred contact technical support for assistance (8002f2f0)

I have tryed all the options in safemode but nothing works. i even tryed replacing the hard drive wich did not work.

anny help will be appreciated thank you in advance :afro:

Ask your friend whether they messed with Factory Service Mode.
