Were able to get your wifi chip replaced ? If you have never done it before get you a hot air station and check the temp is correct and use pletny of flux and kapton tape its heat resistant tape should protect surronding components ive found about 725° F work good for most things you may need 800°F if it has any big traces going to it they leach the heat. I have been using amtech flux in a syringe.

Oh hi, I forgot about this topic for a while, sorry.
I tried to transplate Wi-Fi board from one Slim 2500 to another, but didn't succeed.
Successfully desoldered board from one console, but ripped trace off the working module from second console :|
I don't know if PS3 will turn on without Wi-Fi module soldered, but after all the hassle, I got told that it's been in repair shop before and then I saw flux residue around southbridge... It was probably dead on arrival and I was wasting time on corpses...
I tried to transplate just the Wi-Fi chip and voltage regulator from Slim 2500 to Slim 3000 but it didn't worked either. Maybe I fried it while soldering, or it's incompatible between different Slim models, I don't know.
Buying new module for Slim 3000 will not be profitable, but at least I still can use these consoles for spare parts in future.
And did you succeed to repair the AV connector?
